GULMINI गुल्मिनी :: 

गुल्मिनी तर्जनीमध्ये पर्वमध्याधो यदि। 

रेखा वृत्ताकृतिः कीर्तिमायुश्च क्षपयत्यसौ। 
चैषा मध्यादुपरि चेत् रेखा पूर्वोक्तलक्षणा॥ 

दीर्घमायुर्पशश्चापि  विपुलं संप्रयच्छति। वृत्ताकृतित्वात् नाम्नाSसौ गुल्मिनीत्यभिधीयते  

यह वृत्ताकृति-गोलाकार रेखा होने कारण यह गुल्मिनी कहलाती है और 

GULMINI
गुल्मिनी 

मध्यपर्व पर बीचों-बीच या फिर कुछ नीचे पाई जाती है। इसके प्रभाव से जातक की आयु और मान सम्मान में कमी आती है। यदि यह रेखा थोड़ी सी ऊपर स्थित हो तो जातक के सम्मान और आयु में वृद्धि होगी।

This line found over the second-middle phalange, is circular in shape. Its placed either centrally or a little below. This line reduces longevity and fame. However, if it is placed a little higher up on the middle phalange, it will bestow long life and respectability. Being circular in shape it is called Gulmini.

ARUNA
अरुणा

ARUNA अरुणा :: 

अरुणाख्या तदुर्ध्व स्यात् रेखाSSरुण्योल्वणत्वतः। 

किंञ्चत्कृष्णा दोषमेष फलमेषा प्रयच्छति।

अरुणेत्युदिता सद्भिः स्त्रीषु रक्तत्वसूचनात्।

 यह  रेखा मध्यपर्व में गुल्मिनी के ऊपर पाई जाती है। अपने लाल रंग की वजह से यह अरुणा कहलाती है। यदि इसका रंग काला हो तो यह विपरीत परिणाम देती है। यदि यह रेखा किसी स्त्री के हाथ में पाई जाये तो उसकी त्वचा का  रंग लाल होगा। इसकी वजह से व्यक्ति में नेता-नायक या फिर एक बहादुर व्यक्ति के गुण पाये जायेंगे, यदि रेखा ऊपर की ओर उठी हुई होगी। 

Its found just above Gulmini in the middle phalange. Its called so, due to its red colour. If its dark, it gives undesirable results. Women with this line will have a red complexion. There may be an undertone of heroic sentiment, if this line is seen in an upward direction.

VEERKANTKA
वीरकण्टका

VEERKANTKA वीरकण्टका ::

 तिर्यक्तु गुल्मिनीस्थाने रेखास्स्यु: वीरकण्टका:॥

 पंच तासां असाफल्ये वीरहानिकरा नृणाम्। जयदास्ल्युश्च साकल्ये नामार्थस्स्यात स्फुटोSत्रहि॥  

गुल्मिनी के स्थान पर, मध्य पर्व में 5 खड़ी रेखाओं का समूह जातक को शौर्य और युद्ध भूमि में विजय प्रदान करता है।  परन्तु इन रेखाओं की सँख्या में कमी होने पर शौर्य में कमी आ जाती है। 
At the site of Gulmini a group of 5 lines may be observed, which gives success to the male warriors. In case, the number of these lines is either less or reduced, the valour too will be reduced. The meaning of the line is a thorn to the valour. 

This line has a close association with Vishnugee discussed later.

HASTA हस्ता

HASTA हस्ता ::

हस्ता तर्जन्यध: पर्वसंस्था सूक्ष्माSन्यवर्णत:। 

वर्णान्तरप्राप्तिकरी तद्वतः पुरुषस्य सा॥ 

हस्ता स्यात् दानशीलत्वात् हस्तरोगादधापिवा। 

यह  पतली और पीले रंग की रेखा, तर्जनी ऊँगली के निम्नतम पर्व में दिखती है। इसके होने से जातक की जाति-वर्ण में परिवर्तन हो सकता है। जातक मुक्त हस्त से भेंट-उपहार देता है; अतः रेखा का यह नाम हस्ता है। उसके हाथ में खराबी भी हो सकती है। 

Its found at the nethermost-lowest phalange of the Index finger. This thin and yellow will change the caste of the possessor. The name comes from one's liberal nature of giving away gifts. Alternatively it causes defects or ailments of the hand. 

MAHISHTH
महिष्ठ:

MAHISHTH महिष्ठ: :: 

महिष्ठ  स्तर्जनीमध्ये पर्वमध्यादधो यदि। 
निम्नभागो  महांस्तद्वान्  नामार्थोSत्रपि च स्फुटः॥  

तर्जनी के मध्य पर्व पर पाई जाने वाली यह रेखा जातक को सौभाग्य प्रदान करती है।

This line is found in the middle phalange of Index finger. It grants good fortune to the owner as indicated by its name.

GURVINI
गुर्विणी 

GURVINI गुर्विणी ::  

गुर्विणी  तु महिष्ठस्य परितो वर्तुलाकृति:। 
रेखा सा गौरवं देहे पतन च प्रयच्छति॥ 

नाम्ना सा स्थूलतां पुंसां स्त्रिणांचेत गर्भनित्यताम्। 

मध्य पर्व में पाई जाने वाली यह रेखा महिष्ठ को घेरती है। जातक स्थूलकाय और गिरने की स्थिति में होता है। स्त्रियों को यह रेखा लगातार सन्तान उत्पत्ति करवाती है।

It encircles the earlier line Mahishth. One who has this line may be bulky-heavy weight. It indicates fall. One will be stout and the woman with this indication will bear children continuously.

DHANVINI

      धन्विनि

DHANVINI धन्विनि ::

धन्विनि नाम तर्जन्या:  तिर्यक् दक्षिणपार्श्वगा।

अन्तर्भागमसंप्राप्ता प्रतिभायुर्धनेविना॥

धार्ष्टयप्रदत्वात् धन्वीति मरुभूमिरुदाहृता। 

तस्मात् तच्छब्दशक्त्वैषा रेखा दारिद्रियसूचनी॥ 

इस रेखा विस्तार तर्जनी ऊँगली के तीनों पर्वों पर होता है। इसका झुकाव हाथ के किनारे पर अँगूठे की ओर होता है। हाथ में इसके होने का इज्जत, धन के साथ-साथ आयु में कमी। ऐसा व्यक्ति निर्धन ही रहता है। इसके नाम  का अर्थ रेगिस्तान से जुड़ा है। 
This is line which covers all the 3 phalanges of the Index finger towards the thumb, slightly towards the edge. One will have no fame, longevity and money. The name suggest to have been derived from desert. One with this indication will face poverty, due to his arrogance.
ARROGANCE :: उद्दंडता, हेकड़ी, गर्व, आपा खोने, अक्खड़पन, दम्भ; arrogance, glory, assumption, atrocity, tactlessness, vanity, self, ego, consciousness, one's own entity, hardiness,  pragmatism, priggishness.  

RAGDANTIKA
रागदन्तिका 

RAGDANTIKA रागदन्तिका  :: 

स्याद्राग रागदन्तिका नाम तर्जनीमूलदेशत:। 

अधोमुखी च रोहिण्या: सन्निधौ तलगामिनी॥

त्रैलोक्यरंजनी सैषा यदिमत्स्याकृतिः क्वचित्।अभीष्टार्थप्रदा रेखा स्त्रीणां पुंसामयापि वा॥ ताम्बूलचर्वण श्रद्धा सूचनात् रागदन्तिका। 

तर्जनी ऊँगली के मूल से प्रारम्भ होकर यह रेखा जीवन रेखा के सामने राहू क्षेत्र की ओर बढ़ती है। यदि यह रेखा मछली का आकार ले ले तो, तीनों लोकों को प्राप्त करने की शक्ति प्रदान करती है। सामान्यतया यह मनुष्य की सभी इच्छाओं की पूर्ति करती है। इसका नाम पान चबाने की आदत का प्रतीक है। 
It starts from the foot of the Index finger and proceeds in the direction of the plain-palm just opposite to Rohini-Life Line. In case the shape of fish is formed by it, it will bring power to win over the 3 abodes. In general it capable of fulfilling all desires of the possessor. The name comes from the habit of chewing betel leaves.

GAU गौ

GAU गौ :: 

गौर्नीम  तर्जनीमूलपर्वस्था  पृथुला सिता। 

तिर्यक् गता मृदुस्पर्शी रेखा स्त्रीणां यशस्करी। 
गवां वृद्धिकरी तस्मात् गौरित्येव निगद्यते॥   

गेंहुए रंग की सीढ़ी खड़ी और मुलायम यह रेखा, तर्जनी ऊँगली के सबसे नीचे के पर्व पर पायी जाती है। स्त्री के हाथ में होने पर, उसे विशेष मान-सम्मान की प्राप्ति होती है। इसके धारक के पास बड़ी सँख्या में गौ धन की वृद्धि होना इसका कारण है।
Its found over the lowest phalange of the Index finger, Wheaties in colour, vertical and soft to touch. It brings great name and fame to the women. The name comes from the increase in the possession of cows by the owner.
KAL HRAT कालहृत् ::

KAL HRAT
कालहृत् 

कालहृत् कपिला तिर्यक् तर्जन्यग्रगता तया। 

रेखया नित्यसौख्यं स्यात् दुःखक्लशविवर्जितम्॥ 

सुखाधिक्येन कालस्य हरणात् कालहृन्मता। 

तर्जनी ऊँगली के सबसे ऊपर के पर्व पर पाई जाने वाली यह रेखा खड़ी हुई और काले रंग की होती है। यह जातक को लगातार मिलने वाले दुःख और परेशानी को प्रकट करती है। इसको यह नाम इसलिये मिला है क्योंकि जातक अपना अधिकतम समय मौज-मस्ती में बिताना चाहता है। 

Its blackish, vertical and found at the top phalange of the Index finger. It indicates perennial happiness, undisturbed by sorrow or anxiety. Its called so since, one will spend most of his life in pleasure.

KRATA कृता

KRATA कृता :: 

कृता स्थूला जर्जरांगी  तर्जनीमध्यपर्वगा। 

रेखा तिर्यक् गता नित्यं दुःखमेव प्रयच्छति॥पूर्वं कृतस्य पापस्य फलसंसूचनात् कृता।   

तर्जनी ऊँगली के मध्य पर्व में पाई जाने वाली टेढ़ी-मेढ़ी और गहरी, यह रेखा पूर्वजन्म में किये गए पापों के फलस्वरूप पाये जाने वाले कष्टों, दुखों को प्रकट करती है। 

This is found at the middle phalange of the index finger. It is twisted-curved but well carved. It brings sorrow to the bearer. It indicates sins of the previous births.

VISHNUGI विष्णुगी: :: 

VISHNUGI

     विष्णुगी:

विष्णुगी: तर्जनीमध्यपर्वमध्यादधौंSशत:। 
तिर्यक्  किंचित् गता रेखा वीरकण्टकसंज्ञिता॥

भित्वोर्ध्वगामिनी दक्षपाश्र्वगा सा स्फुटाकृति: 
नृणां स्वाश्रयभूतानां सर्वरोगप्रदा सदा॥

रोगार्त्यतिश्यात् पुंसां संततकिलष्ठचेतसाम्। 
विष्णुगीरित्यतो विष्णो: नामगानप्रसंगतः॥ 

यह रेखा तर्जनी ऊँगली के मध्य पर्व में स्थित वीरकण्टका को काटकर ऊपर की दिशा में अँगूठे की ओर जाती है। वीरकण्टका युद्ध क्षेत्र और जीवन में सफलता प्रदायक होती है। इसके प्रभाव स्वरूप जातक हमेशा परेशानियों और रोगग्रस्त से रहेगा। इसके दुष्प्रभाव से मुक्त होने के लिये जातक को भगवान् विष्णु की पूजा-अर्चना करनी चाहिये। 

This is a line which cuts the five vertical lines granting success in battle field-all walks of life, illustrated by Vir Kantak. This is located at the middle phalange of the Index finger. It moves in an upward direction towards the thumb. One with line always suffers from ailments-diseases. As a result of suffering his mind is riddled with anxiety. One should pray to Bhagwan Vishnu to get rid of illness, as the name suggests.

DEVI देवी :: 

DEVI देवी

देवी तर्जन्यप्रसंस्था निम्नागी वर्तुला च सा। सर्वप्रियत्वं वैदग्ध्यं आत्मज्ञत्वं प्रयच्छति॥ नाम्ना देवीति विख्याता द्योतनांगत्वसूचनात्। 

यह गहरी गोलाई लिये हुई रेखा तर्जनी के ऊपरी पर्व पर उपस्थित होती है। यह जातक को प्यार, काइयाँपन और आत्मज्ञान प्रदान करती है। यह रेखा जातक को त्वचा की चमक और आभा प्रदान करती है।

Its deep cut, circular line found at the top phalange of the Index finger. It gives qualities like lovableness, shrewdness and knowledge of the self. Being bright in appearance, its called so.
The line is called so since it gives the possessor aura and brightness of the skin.

VARISHTHA वरिष्ठा :: 

VARISHTHA 

वरिष्ठा 

वरिष्ठा  तर्जनीमूलपर्वणि स्यात् महाप्रभा।
युग्माकृति: अनेकाभिः संबंधात् बंधुसूचनी॥

अभीष्टवस्तुसंसिद्धौ सहकारितया सदा।
बंधुरेव निमित्तं स्यात् वरिष्ठा तस्य सूचनात्॥

यह रेखा तर्जनी ऊँगली के मूल पर्व में होती है। यह चमकीली रेखा युग्म-जोड़े में पाई जाती है। इसके आसपास अन्य रेखाएँ भी मौजूद हो सकती हैं। यह अनेक नाते-रिश्तेदारों को व्यक्त करती है। जातक को अपने रिश्तेदारों से इच्छा पूर्ति में सहयोग प्राप्त होता है। इसका नाम रिश्तेदारों से अधिकतम सहायता प्राप्ति का द्योतक है। 
This is present at the lowest phalange of the Index finger. It is very bright and appear in pair. It may be surrounded some more lines, as well. It indicate many relatives-relations. One will get help-cooperation of relatives in achievement of desires. The name comes from the maximum help granted by relatives.
MAHOTPATA महोत्पाता :: 

MAHOTPATA
   महोत्पाता

महोत्पाता वर्तुलांगी तर्जनीमध्यपर्वगा।

रेखांतरणे सम्युक्ता यद्ययुक्ता च तत्फलम्॥

कृतघ्नता स्यात् तर्जन्योः उभयोः यदि सर्वदा। 
दुःखप्रदा भवत्यायुः स्वपौष्कल्यानुरूपतः॥ 

पापवाची महोत्पातशब्दो यस्मादतो नरः। 
तस्मात् पापिष्ठ एव स्यात् इति शास्त्रविदां मतम्॥  

अर्धचन्द्राकार यह रेखा तर्जनी के मध्य पर्व में पाई जाती है। इस रेखा वाला जातक अकृतध्न-अकृतध्न (अहसान को न मानने वाला) होगा। इस रेखा की गहराई और लम्बाई के अनुपात में, उसे दुखों की प्राप्ति होगी। ऐसे व्यक्ति को झूँठ बोलने की आदत होगी विद्वजनों ने इस बात की पुष्टि की है कि यह व्यक्ति पापी होगा। 
This line forms a semi circle in the middle phalange of the Index finger. A person having this formation on both the hands would always be ungrateful. He will experience sorrow in proportion to the strength of the line in his life. One will be habitual of speaking sinful words. The scholars confirm such a person to be a sinner.
VANI वाणी ::

वाणी तर्जन्यूर्ध्वपर्वरेखायुक्ता यवाकृति:। 

रेखा विद्यां श्रियं राज्ञां वल्लभत्वं च यच्छति। 

वाणीति नाम्ना  विख्याता वाङ्गमाधुर्यप्रसूचनात्॥ 

अर्धचन्द्राकार यह रेखा तर्जनी ऊँगली के ऊपरी पर्व में पाई जाती है। इसके होने से जातक को विद्या, धन-सम्पत्ति और खुशहाली प्राप्त होती है। वह राजाओं का कृपापात्र होता है। जातक मधुर वचन बोलने वाला व्यक्ति होता है। 
This is a semi circular formation over the top phalange of the Index finger. One this possession is blessed with wealth, prosperity and learning. He attains great popularity among the kings. The names comes from sweet words-speech.

भगवान् श्री कृष्ण चक्र धारी थे। उनकी तर्जनी अँगुली में चक्र था। ऐसा जातक अँगुली के इशारे से सामने वाले को जो भी कहें वह बात चक्र के समान चलायमान होकर पूरी होती है।

जातक धनवान, प्रभावी, अनेक मित्रों से युक्त होकर मित्रों से लाभ पाने वाले होते हैं। महत्वाकांक्षी होने के साथ-साथ धन का भी लाभ पाते हैं। सांसारिक सुखों का भोग कर सुखपूर्वक अपना जीवन व्यतीत करते हैं। वह कुशल चिकित्सक, नेता, व्यापारी, अधिवक्ता भी हो सकता है। इनकी तर्क शक्ति अधिक होती है। ये अनेक विधाओं के जानकार भी होते हैं। इनमें से कुछ आध्यात्म की ओर रुचि रखते हैं व तीनों कालों का ज्ञान रखने वाले महापुरुष भी हो सकते हैं।
त्रिभुज बृहस्पति पर्वत पर शुभ होता है। ऊँचे दर्जे के राजनीतिज्ञों, धार्मिक पुरुषों और योगी महापुरूषों के हाथों में यह पाया जाता है। ऐसा व्यक्ति मनुष्य मात्र का कल्याण चाहने वाला होता है। जिस व्यक्ति के हाथ में यह त्रिभुज होता है, वह अपने निकटवर्ती लोगों को अच्छी तरह से और चतुराई से किसी न किसी तरीके से काम में लगा सकते है।

टूटा हुआ चक्र व्यक्ति को मानसिक चिन्ताओं से ग्रस्त कर देता है।
तर्जनी एवं मध्यमा के मध्य में छेद न हो तो बाल्य अवस्था में सुखी होता है।
