अक्षरं परमं ब्रह्म ज्योतीरूपं सनातनम्।
गुणातीतं निराकारं स्वेच्छामयमनन्तजम्॥
कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन।
मा कर्मफलहेतुर्भुर्मा ते संगोऽस्त्वकर्मणि॥
[श्रीमद्भगवद्गीता 2.47]
जब तक अँगूठा सुदृढ़, खड़ा हो रहा है मनुष्य जीवित है। मनुष्य के मरते ही उसका अँगूठा गिर जाता है। अँगूठे का हथेली में उतना ही महत्व है, जितना मुँह के ऊपर नाक का। हथेली से किये जाने वाले कार्यों में अकेले अँगूठे का 45 प्रतिशत योगदान होता है। अँगूठे का दिमाग से भी गहरा सम्बंध है। इसका सबसे बड़ा प्रमाण ये है कि किसी व्यक्ति का अँगूठा यदि अचानक काट दिया जाए तो वो पागल हो सकता है। गुरु द्रोणाचार्य ने भी एकलव्य से शरीर के इस महत्वपूर्ण भाग (अँगूठे) को गुरु दक्षिणा के रूप में माँगकर अर्जुन को दिय गए वचन को पूर्ण कर पाये थे। शास्त्रों में इसे हंस, शिव, गणेश, विष्णु-सूर्य आदि नामों से सम्बोधित कर इसके महत्व को बतलाया गया है।
अनादि सत्य सिद्ध ग्रंथों-वेद, उपनिषद, पुराण आदि में जहाँ कहीं भी आत्मा के स्वरूप या फिर परमतत्व, परमब्रह्म, परमेश्वर, परमात्मा का निरूपण किया गया है, उसके स्वरूप की तुलना अँगूठे से की गई है।
The eternal scriptures Veds, Upnishads and the Purans have configured the Almighty like the Thumb.
The soul present in the body of an organism acquires the shape and size of the human thumb, once its released from the body.
शरीर से पृथक होने-मृत्यु के बाद, आत्मा अँगूठे के आकार के क्षेत्र में मौजूद-उपस्थित रहती है।
शरीर से पृथक होने-मृत्यु के बाद, आत्मा अँगूठे के आकार के क्षेत्र में मौजूद-उपस्थित रहती है।
वराहतोको निरगादंगुष्ठ परिमाणक:।
दृष्टोSगुंष्ठ शिरोमात्र: क्षणाद्गण्डशिलासम:॥
ब्रह्मा जी के नासिका छिद्र से अकस्मात अँगूठे के बराबर आकार का वराह शिशु निकला और अँगूठे के पेरूए के बराबर दिखने वाला वह प्राणी-वराह, क्षण भर में पर्वत के समान विस्तृत हो गया।[श्रीमद्भागवत महापुराण 3.13.18]
A small boar-hog equal to the size of the thumb, came out of the nasal cavity of Brahma Ji-the creator, spontaneously and took the shape of a mountain at once.
अंगुष्ठमात्रो रवितुल्यरूप, संकल्पाहंकार समन्वितो यः।
बुद्धेर्गुणेनात्मगुणेन चैव,आराग्रमात्रो ह्यपरोSपि दृष्टः॥
जो अँगुष्ठ मात्र परिमाण वाला, रवि तुल्य-सूर्य के समान प्रकाश वाला तथा संकल्प और अहंकार से युक्त है, बुद्धि के गुण के कारण और अपने गुण के कारण ही सूजे की नोक के जैसे सूक्ष्म आकार वाला है; ऐसा अपर अर्थात परमात्मा से भिन्न जीवात्मा भी निःसन्देह ज्ञानियों के द्वारा देखा गया है।[श्वेताश्वतरोपनिषद् 5.8]
The Almighty-God similar in shape & size to the thumb, brilliant like the Sun, associated with firmness-determination & possessiveness, due to his own characterises and the intelligence, small & sharp just like the tip of a needle, was in deed seen, visualised, observed, conceived by the learned, enlightened, scholars.
अंगुष्ठमात्र: पुरुषो, मध्ये आत्मनि तिष्ठति।
ईशानो भूतभव्यस्य न तेता विजुगुप्सते॥
अँगुष्ठ मात्र परिमाण वाला, परम पुरुष-परमात्मा, शरीर के मध्य भाग अर्थात हृदयाकाश में स्थित है, जो कि भूत, भविष्य और वर्तमान का शासन करने वाला है। उसे जान लेने के बाद वह जिज्ञासु-मनुष्य किसी की निन्दा नहीं करता। यही वह परमतत्व है।[कठोपनिषद् 2.1.13]
The Almighty comparable to thumb in shape and size, is present in the middle segment of the body and visualises the past, present and the future. Once a man knows HIM, never censure others.
मनुष्य के हाथ में रेखाएँ अक्सर बदलती रहती हैं। परन्तु अँगूठे पर पाई जाने वाली सूक्ष्म रेखाएँ मृत्यु पर्यन्त यथावत बनी रहती हैं।

धर्म राज-यम का यह कहना है कि अँगूठे के गूढ़ तत्व को जान लेने के बाद, मनुष्य के बारे में सभी कुछ पता पड़ सकता है।
Lines over the palm keep on changing continuously. Line of Head in the right hand of a person disappeared completely and then reappeared after some time. As a matter of fact lines over the thumb never change. Even the microscopic lines do remain as such. Dharm Raj-demigod of death has said that if one is able to study the thumb of a person carefully, he can easily reveal the present, past and future of the client-bearer.
Date of birth can be ascertained by carefully examining the lines over the thumb, since it gives the natal chart of the bearer at the time-moment he was born. But its a very-very intricate subject and need hard labour and regular practice.
ईशानो भूत भव्यस्य स एवाद्य स उ श्वः।
भूत, भविष्य तथा वर्तमान पर शासन करने वाला वह परमात्म परमतत्त्व जैसा आज है, वैसा ही कल भी रहेगा।
The Almighty who rules the present, past and the future will remain as such always & for ever.
*DHANI धानि: ::
धनि: यवसमानांगी युक्तत्वात्सन्धिरेखया। वामांगुष्ठस्य सफलां कृषिं सा सम्प्रयच्छति। स्वपौ ष्कल्यानुरूपेण नामार्थ: स्यात् धनोदयः॥
यव केवल एक ही स्थान पर शुभ होता है और वह है अँगूठा। बायें हाथ के अँगूठे पर मौजूद यह चिन्ह जातक को प्रचुर कृषि भूमि प्रदान करता है। अगर यह यव टूटा भी हो तो भी जातक की फसल गाहे-बगाहे बहुत अच्छी होगी। उसे धन-दौलत, समृद्धि की प्राप्ति होगी।
This island formation over the left hand thumb is perhaps the only case in which the island is auspicious. The shape-figure is identical to barley.
Island is an inauspicious sign. It weakens the qualities of the lines and the mounts, wherever its present.
*HEMWATI हेमवती ::
अंगुष्ठमूलोर्ध्वदेशे रेखा हेमवती पृथु:। किंकिणीदाम तुल्यांगी हेमभूषोउज्ज्वलाङ्गता॥ अवर्चनीयता कीर्ति: फलं नामात्र च स्फुटम्।
सोने के समान घण्टियों जैसी आकृति लिये हुए यह रेखा जातक को स्वर्णाभूषण, कीर्ति-नाम और बहकावे न आने की क्षमता प्रदान करती है। हकीकत में यह यव माला जैसी लगती है और यव केवल अँगूठे पर ही शुभ होते हैं।
The line is made up of thick bell like formations, golden in colour. It grants undeceivality, fame and possession of golden ornaments. This is found over left hand thumb.
एक यव एक पुत्र को प्रकट करता है। जितने यव होंगे, उतने ही पुत्र होंगे। टूटा, कटा हुआ यव गर्भपात को दीखता है।
One island, one son, more island more sons i.e., two islands two sons. Broken island abortion.***
*MADYANTIKA मदयन्तिका ::
अधस्थात् रागबधिरारेखाया: मदयन्तिका। तिर्यक् गता मदयति सर्वदा सुखसम्पदा।
हर्षा धिक्य प्रसंगाच्च मदयन्तीति नामच॥
अँगुष्ठ मूल पर नीचे की ओर से ऊपर को बढ़ने वाली यह रेखा दैवीय सुख-ख़ुशी प्रदान करने वाली है। यह प्रचुर मात्रा में धन-धान्य, सम्पत्ति भी देती है।
This line rises on the lower side of the left hand thumb and gradually rises up without touching the other side of the thumb. It grants eternal pride of wealth and well-being, i.e., extreme happiness-bliss.
*CHETSA चेतसा ::
चेतसा रोहिणीमूलात् शत्रुस्थानान्तमेति च। दीर्घमायु: धान्यसंपत् आरोग्यं च प्रयच्छति॥ चेतोगतार्थसं प्राप्तिसूचनात् चेतसा मता।
जातक धन कमाने में चौकस रहता है और दीर्घायु होता है। उसके पास बड़ी मात्रा में कृषि योग्य भूमि होती है। उसका स्वास्थ्य हमेशा अच्छा रहता है। यह रेखा जीवन रेखा के करीब चलते हुए शत्रु स्थान-निम्न मंगल पर और शुक्र की सन्धि तक पहुँचती है।
It starts from the root of Rohini-Life Line and proceeds towards the Shatru Sthan-Lower Mars near the junction of Venus. It grants long life, large agricultural tract of land and perfect health. The possessor will always be bent upon earning wealth. This is found over left hand thumb.
*RATI रति ::
रति अंगुष्ठमूले तु सन्धिरेखया।
भोगसौख्यं तत्फलं नामार्थोSत्र परिस्फुटः॥
अँगूठे के दोनों सिरों को जोड़ने वाली रेखा रति रेखा कहलाती है और सम्भोग-सुख प्रदान करती है।
Rati is a dotted line joining the two ends-sandhi, of the thumb. Rati grants sexual pleasures. This is found over left hand thumb.
*HRADYA-हृदया ::
हृदया रते: रेखा तिर्यक् गता सदा।तत्फलं लोकहृद्यत्वं नामार्थ: स्पष्ट एव हि॥
रति रेखा के ठीक नीचे एक खड़ी रेखा मनुष्य को सारे संसार का प्रिय बनाती है। अगर यह रेखा कहीं कटी है तो उस समय प्रभाव में कमी होगी।
Hradya is a vertical line below Rati. A person with this line be loved by the whole world. A defective line create periodic disfavours.

वसुघ्नी हृदया के शुभ प्रभाव को नष्ट करती है।
Vasughni destroys all the auspicious effects of Hradya, discussed above. This is found over left hand thumb.
Consider both the hands prior to making a forecast.

तलपृष्ठे रोमसन्धिप्रदेशे न च तत्फलं। तद्वतां रोमनाश: स्यात् स्त्रीणां पुंसामथापि वा॥ स्वपौष्कल्यानुरूपेण परिस्फुट:।
यह रेखा वसुधनी के नीचे से शुरु होकर हथेली के पिछले भाग की ओर, जहाँ बाल मौजूद हैं, बढ़ती है। स्त्री-पुरुष दोनों के लिये ही यह, अपनी गहराई के अनुरूप, बालों का गिरना दिखाती है।
This line starts from beneath Vasughani and proceed to the back of the hand to the region of hair. Both for men and women with such lines, indicate-suffer from loss of hair in proportion to the strength of those lines. This is found over left hand thumb.

धने किंचिदधोभागे यवक्या वैश्यवृत्तिकृत्।
तिर्यक् नामापि शल्यादि धान्यवृद्धिप्रसंगतः॥
धानी के नीचे यह रेखा पाई जाती है और जातक खेती-बाड़ी, व्यापार आदि करता है। यवक्या नाम इसे अन्न के बाहुल्य के लिये मिला है।
A little below Dhani will be found Yavakya, which is vertical, touching the island. One this sign will be engaged in trading or agriculture. The name suggests plentiful of cereals like rice. This is found over left hand thumb.

अधो यवकयरेखायाः तिर्यक् रक्ता जरत्तनु:।
रेखा सा रागबधिरा स्वाभीष्टविरहार्तिदा॥
नाम्नैषा रागबधिरा रागन्धत्वप्रसूचनात्।
रेखा सा रागबधिरा स्वाभीष्टविरहार्तिदा॥
नाम्नैषा रागबधिरा रागन्धत्वप्रसूचनात्।
यह ऊपर की ओर उठी हुई रेखा यवक्या नामक रेखा के नीचे पाई जाती है। यह रेखा लाल रंग लिये, लहरदार और कान्तिहीन होती है। यह मनुष्य में इच्छाओं, व्यक्तियों, और मनवान्छित वस्तुओं से अलगाव की प्रवृत्ति-अंधत्व को प्रदर्शित करती है। इसके नाम का अर्थ रंगों का दिखाई ना देना है अर्थात व्यक्ति इस संसार के प्रति उदासीन हो सकता है।
This line is seen below Yavakya with an upward course, reddish and wavy and lustreless. She creates pangs of separation from persons or things beloved or desired. By name it suggests colour blindness. Its found over the left hand thumb.
*GAJAHAVYA गजाह्वया ::

गजाह्वया स्यात् अंगुष्ठस्याद्यया सन्धिरेखा।
सं श्लिष्टता वामपाश्र्वेन तिर्यक् पृष्ठोन्मुखी स्फुटा॥
गम्भीरत्वं अधृष्यत्वं पारतंत्र्यंच तत्फलम्।
गजाह्रायैषा गजवदाह्रानस्य प्रसूचनात्॥
यह रेखा अँगूठे की सन्धि पर स्पष्ट रूप से उपस्थित, थोड़ी उलटे हाथ की ओर उठी हुई होती है। इस रेखा की उपस्थिति दूसरों पर निर्भर साधु स्वभाव का व्यक्ति बनाती है।
This line is found with the first Sandhi (joint) Rekha of the left hand Thumb, a little to the left and upwards and therefore tending to look at the back of the hand. It will be clear in formation. A person with this line will be sagacious, invincible but dependent on others. The name suggests the calling of the elephant as an illustration of its effects.
*BAL HRADHYA बालहृद्या ::
अंगुष्ठपृष्ठमूलाधोदेशात् रेखा समुत्थिता।
बालहृद्यानाम सैषा हृद्यान्पुत्रान् प्रयच्छति॥
अभंगुरं यौवनं च सौभाग्यं कीर्तिमेव च।
बालस्य वृद्धा बालायाः वृद्धो हृद्यो भवेद्यत:॥
बालहृध्येति नामार्थं: सम्प्रोक्त: पूर्वसूरिभि:।
बालवल्लीलया यद्वा सदा हृद्यत्वसूचनात्॥
इस रेखा का उदय अँगूठे के मूल से पीछे की ओर होता है। यह प्यार करने वाली स्त्रियाँ, लड़के, जवानी-अच्छा स्वास्थ्य, खुशियाँ और नेकनामी प्रदान करती है। धारक-जातक का व्यवहार बच्चे जैसा निश्छल या फिर आशिकाना हो सकता है।
This line is seen at the back of the left hand thumb, starting from the base. It grants loved ones, sons, perpetual youth, happiness and fame. Its called so, since it gives youthful heart to the young and aged alike. It may be called so because either the bearer is childish in his pranks or one with perennial romantic disposition.
**VASUPREKSHA वसुप्रेक्षा ::
ऊर्ध्वोन्मुखो दीर्घरूपा वसुप्रेक्षा समृद्धिदा।
उपार्जितस्य वित्तस्य सदाSपायविशंकया।
निरीक्षण स्वभावात् वसुप्रेक्षेति नाम च।
यह लम्बी और ऊपर की ओर उठी हुई रेखा बालहृद्या के नीचे से प्रारम्भ होती है। इसका धारक जातक अपनी सम्पत्ति को बार-बार देखता और उसको लेकर चिन्तित रहता है।
It starts from below Bal Hradhya as a long and upward line. The bearer will be looking at his wealth every now and then for fear of loosing it. Its found over the left hand thumb.***
LINES OVER THUMB BACK अँगुष्ठ-पर्व पृष्ठ रेखाएँ :: These lines represent the 4 stages in the life of a human being.
(1.1). CHILDHOOD बाल्यावस्था :- मनुष्य की 14 वर्ष तक आयु अर्थात बाल्यावस्था और उसके शरीरिक तथा मानसिक विकास पर इसका प्रभाव पड़ता है। जीवन के 10 संस्कार यथा :- गर्भाधान, पुंसवन, सीमन्तोनयन, जातक कर्म, नामकरण, निष्क्रमण, अन्नप्राशन, चूड़ाकर्म, कर्णवेद एवं उपनयन इसके अन्तर्गत आते हैं।
This is effective till one acquires the age of 14 years. It signifies the physical strength and development of mind & body. 10 processes of acquisition of virtues take place during this phase. This is the 1st part of 1st phase of human life.
(1.2). CELIBATE ब्रह्मचर्य :: यह रेखा 14 से 25 वर्ष तक की वय को निर्धारित करती है, जिसके अंतर्गत शिक्षा, बौद्धिक और मानसिक विकास व व्यावसायिक वृत्ति का अनुमान लगाया जा सकता है।
This is the 2nd part of 1st phase of human life. Education, mental development, intelligence, prudence and earnings are described by it.
(2). HOUSEHOLD-FAMILY WAY गृहस्थाश्रम :: यह रेखा गृहस्थ जीवन, विवाह सुख, धन और यश, स्वास्थ्य आदि का निर्धारण करती है। यह जीवन के 25 से 50 तक के काल का वर्णन करती है।
This line describes the 2nd phase of human life between the age of 26-50 years.
(3). RELINQUISHED वानप्रस्थ :: 50 से 75 वर्ष तक की अवस्था वानप्रस्थ है। व्यक्ति सांसारिक जिम्मेवारियों से मुक्त होकर जीवन व्यतीत करे, ऐसा माना गया है। गाँव-शहर से दूर निर्जन-एकान्त में भगवत्भजन-भक्ति भाव से जीये।
At the end of 50th year one should handover the responsibilities to his son and start prayers for smooth transition to next incarnation. This phase continues till 75th year.
(4). RECLUSE सन्यास :: जीवन के अन्तिम चरण में मनुष्य सन्यासी का जीवन व्यतीत करे। यह काल 75 से 100 वर्ष की आयु का है।
This is the last phase of one's life. He should become a recluse, sage, wanderer, saint and devote his full time to the worship of Almighty.
अगर ये रेखाएँ स्पष्ट और दीर्घ-लम्बी-पूरी हैं, तो जातक की वह अवस्था विशेष सुखी और विघ्न रहित होगी। खंडित, जीर्ण, टूटी-फूटी, अस्पष्ट रेखाएँ कष्ट, कठिनाइयों को इंगित करती हैं। यदि बाद की दो रेखाएँ स्पष्ट हैं, तो व्यक्ति वाहन, मकान, धन-दौलत, यश-वैभव, मान-सम्मान की प्राप्ति कर लेता हैं।
If these lines ore complete, without cut; one will not face difficulties during that phase of life. Broken, irregular lines shows tensions, pains-troubles in one's life during that period. A complete clear, well cut line indicate name, fame, wealth, comforts, luxuries.
LINES OVER THE THUMB अँगूठे पर रेखाएँ ::
(1). PUSHP-FAL REKHA-THE LINE OF RESULT-REWARD-OUTCOME पुष्प-फल रेखा :: यदि रेखा स्पष्ट, गहरी सुन्दर हो तो जातक सुखी, सम्पन्न एवं आराम-ऐश्वर्यपूर्ण जीवन बिताता है। रेखा के धूमिल, अस्पष्ट होने पर भी खाने पीने की कमी नहीं रहती, परन्तु जातक का बचपन बहुत कष्टमय रहता है। यदि रेखा आरम्भ में कटी-फ़टी, परन्तु बीच में सुस्पष्ट और गहरी हो तो जातक 22 वर्ष की आयु तक कष्ट भोगता है। पढ़ाई-लिखाई 22 वर्ष से पहले ही छूट जाती है। जीवन में कटु अनुभव बाल्यावस्था से ही होने लगते हैं; मगर वह 28 से 32 वर्ष के बीच अथाह सम्पत्ति अर्जित करता है। यदि यह रेखा रस्सी के समान गुँथी हुई हो तो जातक झगडालू और गरीब होता है। यदि इस रेखा के साथ यदि केसर रेखा और रति रेखा भी दिखे तो जातक त्यागी, ज्ञानी और तपस्वी होगा। उसका मोह भंग होता है तथा उसके जन्म का उद्देश्य कर्म बन्धन तोड़ना और मोक्ष की प्राप्ति हो जाता है।
Pushp means flower and this line, suggests that a person will bloom in life. This line is found between the first and second phalanges of the thumb. The barley formation or Pushp Rekha may be in the shape of an eye, straight line or it could even be broken or dented. It is common to have more than one line or two parallel islands. If it is in the shape of an eye, the possessor is lucky and never lacks in basic amenities in life.
If one has a straight line and another line parallel to it, it will indicate rising expenditure, money will flow in and flow out. To know the timings of the events, divide this line into three parts: the first part will be the first half of the life; the second part will be one’s middle age and the third part will be the twilight or later years of life. If total life expectancy is presumed to be 80 years, then the centre of this line would means 38-42 years of age. Calculation of age should start from the side where the fingers are and towards the side where thumb is joined with the wrist.
Pushp means flower and Fal means fruit. The conditions might lead the bearer towards Salvation as the reward-Fal of his endeavours-devotion to the Almighty, in previous incarnations. This happens when this line is associated by Kesar Rekha and the Rati Rekha. These 2 lines makes him relinquished, enlightened and an ascetic. One leads a happy, comfortable, luxurious life if this line is well marked-cut. In case its unclear-faded, one has to face troubles, pains in childhood, till 22 years of age. His education remains incomplete and he drops out of schooling. He experiences bitterness in childhood. During 22-32 years of age, he earns enormous wealth. If this line is like a knitted cord, he become quarrelsome and poor.
इस रेखा को पराग रेखा भी कहा गया। इसके अनुसार पूर्ण यव के उपस्थित होने पर धारक की पूर्णायु 100 से 120 बताई जाती है। यह यव 2 रेखाओं से मिलकर बनता है। दाँये से बायें जाने वाला भाग स्वयं की-पति रेखा और बायें से दाँयें जाने वाला भाग-पत्नी रेखा, जीवन साथी की उम्र बताता है। यदि यह रेखा टूटी हुई हो तो पारिवारिक जीवन कलहपूर्ण होगा। यदि इस रेखा पर काला तिल हो तो कमाई में बरकत नहीं होगी तथा जातक की युवावस्था में ही जीवन साथी की अकाल मृत्यु हो जायेगी। यदि बायें से दाँया भाग प्रारम्भिक अवस्था में धूमिल और खंडित हो तो पत्नी दुश्चरित्र होगी और कई लोगों से अनैतिक सम्बन्ध रखेगी। यदि यही चिन्ह स्त्री के हाथ में हो तो उसका पति अन्य स्त्रियों से गुप्त सम्बन्ध स्थापित करेगा। यदि यह रेखा अपने अन्तिम पर धूमिल और टूटी हुई हो तो जातक की पुत्र सन्तान की मृत्यु की सम्भावना बनी रहेगी।
यदि यह रेखा बायें से दायें स्पष्ट हो तो जातक की शादी कम उम्र में ही हो जायेगी। यदि यह रेखाएँ एक से अधिक हों तो जातक की एक से अधिक पत्नियाँ होंगी। यदि कोई शुभ रेखा इस रेखा में आकर मिलती है तो जातक को निश्चित रूप से भूमि लाभ होगा। मत्स्याकार आकृति धारण करने पर यह रेखा ठंड, नजले, जुकाम की बीमारी दर्शाती है। ऐसे जातक का जन्म मीन राशि में होने की सम्भावना होती है। इस रेखा पर गुणक-काटे का निशान जातक के व्यापार-धंधे में 37 से 39 की उम्र में परिवर्तन बताता है। इस काल में उसके जीवन साथी की तबियत भी ख़राब रहती है।
This line is termed as Parag (Pollen grains) Rekha as well. If the island is complete, the bearer will survive for 100-120 years. The segment of the line which moves from right to left indicates the husband and is called husband line, while the segment which moves from left to right shows the age of the wife and is termed wife line. If this segment bears a cross, one will change business during 37-39 years and his wife's health will be sensitive during that period.
(2). MADHURA REKHA मधुरा रेखा :- यदि यह रेखा छोटी किन्तु स्पष्ट और चमकीली हो तो जातक उदार हृदय और रईस तबीयत वाला व्यक्ति होगा।
Madhur means sweet-pleasant as nectar. It indicates the sweetness of soul. Mostly this line is small and found only on the sides of the thumb.
One with this bright-shinning and small line has a liberal disposition and mannerism of the wealthy-rich. Spiritual, humane, philanthropists and charitable persons will have this line.
(3). MANDRA REKHA मन्दरा रेखा :- यह रेखा दूरस्थ स्थलों को प्रतिबिम्बित करने वाली है।
Mandara refer to Mandrachal Parwat, used for churning the ocean by the demigods & the demons to obtain elixir-nectar. This line reflects the possibilities of foreign travel (crossing of oceans to see far-away lands).
This line indicates movement to far away-distant places related with marriage.
(4). MAN REKHA मन रेखा :- यदि यह रेखा पुरुष के हाथ में होगी तो उसके कई स्त्रियों से नाज़ायज ताल्लुक होंगे। स्त्री के हाथ में होने से उसके कई पुरुषों से शारीरिक सम्बन्ध होंगे।
Man (mind, psyche, inner self) refers to many wants and desires in personal relationships. This line is found only when a person has a plurality of relationships.
This line shows sexual desire. A man with this line will have illicit relations with many women and vice-versa. This line is rarely found.
(5). RATI REKHA-PASSION रति रेखा :- यह मोहिनी रेखा के नाम से भी जानी जाती है। यह जीवन साथी के साथ लगाव, प्रेम, रुझान, व्यवहार, निभाव एवं वैवाहिक सुख को दर्शाती है। यदि इसके ऊपर-नीचे 2-3 सहायक रेखाएँ हों तो वे पुरुष जातक के अनेक प्रेम सम्बन्ध दर्शाती हैं। यदि यह रेखा अस्पष्ट हो और अँगूठे पर यव खण्डित हो तो उसी अवस्था में जातक की पत्नी की मृत्यु या तलाक होगा तथा उसके तुरन्त बाद जातक दूसरी शादी कर लेगा।
हकीकत में यह प्रणय क्रीड़ाओं को दर्शाती है। मोटी और भद्दी रेखा जातक के संभोगी को अनाड़ी-अनजान-अनिपुण बताती है। इस रेखा का गहरा, नाजुक, पतला होना रति सुख, कामेक्षुक-संतुष्टि दर्शाता है। टूटी हुई रेखा, असन्तुष्टि, अन्य की इच्छा, बताती है।
इस रेखा पर द्वीप होना पत्नी को गुप्त रोग-बीमारी से ग्रसित बताता है।
शुरू में अस्पष्ट रेखा वैवाहिक सुख 28 वर्ष की अवस्था के बाद दिखाती है। ठीक बीच में इस रेखा का अदृश्य होना पत्नी की मृत्यु बताता है। रस्सी का रूप लिये यह रेखा एक ही समय में दो विवाहित पत्नियों को दर्शाती है, परन्तु संतान दोनों से ही संतान प्राप्त नहीं होगी। इस रेखा पर काला तिल-बिन्दु पत्नी को तपेदिक या फिर निमोनिया से ग्रस्त होकर मरना दिखाता है।
Rati is the wife of Kam Dev & Goddess of passion. Rati Rekha indicates marriage and also the kind of relationship the couple will share. When this line has a dot, is broken, dented, crossed or has an island, this indicates problems in relationships. If there is a subsidiary line above or below the line, it means more than one marriage or relationship or attachment-flirtations-casual relationship. If there is a black dot or scissor lines (bar), on this line, it indicates an unpleasant legal divorce. If this line is broken in many parts, there is an increased possibility of marriage not occurring at all.
This line is termed as Mohini Rekha as well. Mohini means one who can mesmerise-lure-attract any one for sex-passion-sensuality-sexuality. It shows attraction-attachment with the wife-sex mate, sexual behaviour, marriage comforts, love and adjustment. If this line is unclear-fragmented or has an island, the wife of the bearer will either die or divorce will take place and one will get married immediately.
In fact this line demonstrate sexual expertise-behaviour. A thick line shows that the mate is not acquainted-habitual-perfect with sex. If the line is thin, deep, shinning, it awards sexual satisfaction-pleasure. Broken line shows desire for some one else-more of sex and dissatisfaction.
Presence of island over this line indicates sexual diseases in his wife-mate.
If this line is unclear in the beginning, it shows that one will get sexual pleasure after the age of 28 years. If this line is twisted-tied like a cord, it shows presence of 2 married wives and that one will not have progeny from either of them. (6). MALIKA REKHA मल्लिका रेखा :- इस रेखा पर या इसके आस-पास मत्स्य, ध्वजा, पत्ता या सर्प की केंचुली दिखाई पड़े तो मनुष्य अपने जीवन में ही ईश्वर के तुल्य सम्मान पाता है।
यदि यहाँ पर सींग, द्वीप, सर्प, दाँत, केकड़ा या बिच्छु की सी आकृति दिखाई पड़े तो जातक दिव्य प्रतिभाओं से युक होता हुआ भी साधारण, निम्न स्तरीय जीवन व्यतीत करता है।
यदि मल्लिका रेखा दो समानांतर रेखाओं से मिलकर बने तो पैसा नदी के बहाव की तरह आता और जाता है।
खण्डित रेखा व्यक्ति के खराब स्वास्थ्य को दर्शाती है। यदि रेखा पर काला तिल हो तो जातक को गुप्त रोग, चिंता और अन्य बीमारियाँ रहती हैं। सफ़ेद दाग या चिन्ह जुकाम, नजले की शिकायत बताता है।
यदि यह रेखा नीली, बैंगनी या फिर हरा रंग लिये हो तो जातक को वायु, मधुमेह, वीर्य दोष, शीघ्र पतन जैसे रोग होते हैं।
यदि यह रेखा रस्सी की तरह जुड़ी हुई हो तो जातक की सन्तानें श्रीमान्, धीमान्, प्रसिद्ध और बहादुर होंगी।
Mallika meaning a white sweet smelling flower–Jasmine. This line, together with the island is very helpful in predicting past, present & future. This line is found at the base of the thumb, where the thumb meets the palm. Where and when this line is broken, at that age there will be changes in life. A dot or cross indicates there may be loss of health. When this line is thin and long; there is the sign of an eye on barley-island and the palm is pink rose in colour; the person will have great wealth and happy relations with his spouse and children. When there are auspicious signs (flag, triangle, fish, tree), the person will rise in social and economic status.
Presence of figures like fish, flag, leaf or snake skin over the line or around it tells that the person will be worshipped like God, during his life time.
If a figure like horn, island, snake, tooth, crab or scorpion is found around or over the line, one will be blessed with divine capabilities-calibre-talent, but will lead a simple-ordinary life.
If this line is built up of two parallel lines, money will come and go like the flow of river.
A broken line shows bad health. Presence of a black mole indicates venereal diseases, tensions and other diseases. White spot shows cough and cold.
If this line is violet, blue or greenish; one will have diseases like gas trouble, sugar-diabetes, sperm defects and uncontrolled ejaculation.
If this line is twisted, his progeny will be well known, famous, respected and brave.
(7). VAJRA REKHA (Thunder volt) वज्र रेखा :- इस रेखा को हीरक रेखा भी कहते हैं। जिस जातक की जन्म कुण्डली में शुक्र उच्च का हो अथवा केन्द्र में हो या फिर योग कारक लग्न में बैठा हो तो उस जातक के अँगुष्ठ मूल में निश्चित रूप से यह रेखा पाई जायेगी। यह भाग्य और ऐश्वर्य की अधिष्ठात्री रेखा मानी गई है।
यदि जातक के हाथ में रति रेखा विखण्डित हो और वज्र रेखा स्पष्ट हो तो ऐसा व्यक्ति बहुत धनाढ्य होता है, परन्तु उसे शराब-नशे की लत हो जाती है और वह गुप्त रोगों का शिकार हो जाता है। परन्तु यदि केसर रेखा भी उपस्थित हो तो वह निश्चित रूप से करोड़पति होगा। उसकी कुण्डली में राजयोग प्रबल होता है और उसे कोई न कोई बीमारी अवश्य रहती है।
यदि वज्र रेखा स्पष्ट हो किन्तु केसर रेखा और फल रेखा विखण्डित हों तो भी जातक लाखों-करोड़ों में खेलता है; परन्तु उसका भाग्य उस जुआरी की तरह होता है जिसके आने और जाने का कोई पता नहीं चलता।
This line would be found in the hand of the person who has auspicious-ascendant Venus or when Venus is placed at the centre or is Yog Karak-under active paraphrase, at the root of the thumb. This line grants good luck and grants wealth-comforts-luxury.
If the Rati-Passion Line is broken and the Vajr-Thunder Volt line is clear, the bearer would be wealthy-rich; but plagued by addiction of drugs and wine. He may acquire venereal diseases as well. Presence of Kesar-Saffron line would certainly make him a multimillionaire and he would be having fair chances of becoming an administrator-minister. But he will have either one or the other disease.
If the Vajr Rekha is clear and the Kesar line and the Fal Rekha-line of Reward are broken, he would be rich and have millions but he will not count income or expenses in millions.
Yog-Karaks are those planets which, confer fame, honour, dignity, financial prosperity, political success and reputation. The lords of the Kendrs and Trikons (if not also owning a Trikon or associated with a Trik-lord Lord of the 6th, the 8th, or the 12th house) associating with each other or the lords of the 9th and 10th interchanging signs or fully aspecting each other, give rise to Raj Yog.

KESAR REKHA केसर रेखा :- इस रेखा की उपस्थिति जातक के जीवन में यश, धन और भाग्य का उदय काल बताती है। इस रेखा की अनुपस्थिति अर्थाभाव और श्रमपूर्ण जीवन दिखाती है। यदि यह रेखा मोटी हो तो जातक अपने परिश्रम से बहुत अधिक धन कमाता है। यदि यह रेखा टूटी हुई हो तो जातक को किसी धंधे में स्थाई लाभ नहीं मिलता। उसको जीवन यापन के लिये बहुत कठिनाइयों और दिक्क्तों का सामना करना पड़ता है। जब रेखा बाल के समान पतली और सूक्ष्म अवस्था में हो तो वह खूब धन कमाता है; परन्तु उसे अपने गुप्त शत्रु और गुप्त रोगों का भय सदैव बना रहता है। यदि यह रेखा यवरेखा से प्रारम्भ होकर मलिका रेखा तक एकदम स्पष्ट और गहरी दिखाई दे तो जातक का जन्म निश्चित रूप से उत्तम कुल और धनवान परिवार में होता है। ऐसा व्यक्ति कला प्रेमी व कला का कदरदान होता है।
इस रेखा का सर्पाकृति में, टेढ़ा-मेढ़ा होना, मानसिक कमजोरी को प्रकट करता है। यदि इस प्रकार की छोटी-मोटी 16 रेखाएं दोनों हाथों में हों तो जातक शाही घराने का मुखिया होता हुआ जीवन के सभी ऐश्वर्य, सुख, भोग-विलास प्राप्त करता है। ऐसे जातक की कुण्डली में शुक्र या शनि उच्च के होकर योगकारक होते हैं।
जब यह रेखा अँगुष्ठ के प्रथम खण्ड में अस्पष्ट हो तथा द्वितीय खण्ड में दृष्टिगोचर हो तो ऐसे जातक का जन्म गरीब और निम्न परिवार में होता है, मगर जीवन के द्वितीय चरण में उसका कारोबार अच्छा चल पड़ता है तथा वह प्रचुर यश और द्रव्य कमाता है।
यदि यह रेखा धागे की तरह हो तथा काली या पीली हो तो भी जातक के जीवन में धन और वैभव होगा। यदि यह रेखा लाल, गुलाबी, चमकीली और स्निग्ध हो तो इसका महत्व कई गुमा बढ़ जाता है।
Kesar in Hindi means saffron. Saffron is the colour associated with the planet Jupiter-the planet of growth, prosperity, happiness and good luck. These are vertical lines on the thumb. The age at which these lines appear on the thumb, provides opportunities for growth and happiness in life. If these lines are thick, there will be obstacles and problems on the work front and in one’s personal life.
Presence of this line describes fame, wealth and rise of luck in one's life. Its absence tells that one will face lack of money and a life of hard labour. A thick line shows that one will earn a lot through his labour. Broken line shows lack of stability or gain in any profession-trade. He will have to do a lot of hard work and face difficulties to survive. If this line is thin like a hair and is small, one will earn a lot but may be troubled by the hidden enemies and venereal diseases. If this line starts from the line formed by islands and goes to Malika Rekha, crystal clear and deep, one might have taken birth in a reputed and rich family. He will be a love of arts and value it.
If this line has a Serpentine formation and is curved one will have mental weakness. If 16 such lines are there in both the hands, then one will head a royal family and has all sorts of luxuries, comforts. This is there when Venus or Saturn becomes Yog Karak.
When this line is unclear in the first segment of the thumb and appears in the second segment, then one will be born in a poor-low level family, but his business will flourish in the second stage of life. He will earn name, fame and wealth.
If this line is like a thread with black or yellow colour, one will have a lot of money and possessions. If this line is red or pink and is bright and lovely, its significance will increase many fold.

RIPU REKHA रिपु रेखा :- अमंगल रेखा के नाम से भी जाने जानी वाली यह रेखा, यव रेखा, रति रेखा एवं मलिका रेखा को काट कर उनका प्रभाव कम करते हुए, शुक्र स्थान में प्रवेश करती है। यह रेखा दरिद्रता, दुर्भावना एवं दुश्मनी की कारक है। अन्य शुभ लक्षणों के बिना जातक द्वारा शक्तिशाली शत्रुओं पर विजय पाना मुश्किल है। धूमिल, कटी-फ़टी रेखा उतना नुकसान नहीं पहुँचा पायेगी, जितनी कि गहरी, स्पष्ट रेखा पहुँचा सकती है। जातक को शत्रुञ्जय यज्ञ के सहारे इस रेखा के दुष्प्रभाव को नष्ट किया जा सकता है। ऐसा करने पर यह रेखा अदृश्य भी हो जाती है। जातक प्रतिदिन हनुमान चालीसा का पाठ करे और मँगल तथा शनिवार का व्रत रखे।
This line is inauspicious and enters the palm over the Venus by cutting the Yav Rekha, Rati Rekha and Malika Rekha and side by side reducing their auspicious impact. It brings poverty, frustration, enmity and tensions along with it. The enemy is powerful and ruin the possessor in the absence of other auspicious signs. A faded-depleted-shallow line does not cause much harm as compared to a deep, clear line, fine line. One should organise Shatrunjay Yagy to minimise the impact of this line. He should recite Hanuman Chalisa every day after purification and observe a fast on every Tuesday and Saturday. The has been found to vanish by adopting these measures. However he should control his anger and avoid indulgence in enmity.

लोहृिका रोहिणी मूलात् अंगुष्ठोदरमध्यगा।
ऊर्ध्यमानखपर्यंतं शृंगद्वयसमन्विता।
एक शृंगाSपि या दद्यात् विद्यां लक्ष्मीं च पुष्कलाम्।
यह रेखा रोहिणी-जीवन रेखा के अन्तिम छोर से शुरू होकर, अँगूठे के मूल को पार करके, नाख़ून के मध्य तक जाती है। इसमें से हिरण के सींग की तरह की शाखाएँ निकली होती हैं। इसके प्रभाव से जातक को विद्या और लक्ष्मी की कृपा प्राप्त होती है।
It starts from the foot of Rohini-Line and goes along the centre of the left hand thumb up to the nail. It will have one or two sprouts spreading out like the horns of a deer. It grants education-knowledge-learning and wealth.

यह रेखा अँगूठे के पौरुए के ऊपर से नाख़ून नीचे की ओर दो टुकड़ों में बँटकर हाथी के दाँतों की तरह बढ़ती है। जातक के दाँत ज्यादा बढ़े हुए होंगे। जिस व्यक्ति के हाथ में यह रेखा होती है उसके हाथ पाँव टेढ़े-मेढ़े और विकृत इच्छाएँ होती हैं।
It is found over the left hand thumb running from below to the nail, with a two-pronged fork, like the tusks of an elephant. One with this line will have raised teeth. A person with line will have crooked limbs and perverted desires also.

बांचितार्थ प्रदानेन कामवल्लीति नामतः।
कामवल्ली कपिला और युक्ता के नीचे, अँगूठे को दो भागों में विभाजित करने वाली रेखा के नीचे पाई जाती है। इसके कारण जातक को धन-दौलत की सहज प्राप्ति होती है। स्त्री के हाथ में यह रेखा आकर्षण शक्ति, सौभाग्य, धन-दौलत और मान-सम्मान को प्रदर्शित करती है। इसका नाम कामवल्ली इसलिये है, क्योंकि यह मनुष्य की कामना-इच्छा पूर्ति करती है।
It is found above Kapila and Yukta, below the curve dividing the right hand thumb into two segments. It indicates possession of wealth-riches. In case of women, it will denote power of attraction, great fortune and fame. The name Kamvalli comes from the grant of one's desires.

**KAPILA कपिला ::
कपिला अंगुष्ठमूलोर्ध्वस्थाने तिर्यग् बृहतनु:।
रेखा कपिलवर्णा च तद्वान् जीवेत् शतं समा:। आरोग्यैश्वर्य सम्युक्तो बंधुपुत्रयुतोनरः।
कपिला अँगूठे और शुक्र की संधि से थोड़ा ऊपर उठकर पायी जाती है। यह थोड़ी मोटी और गहरे रंग की होती है। धारक 100 साल से ऊपर, उत्तम स्वास्थ्य, धन-दौलत, नाते-रिश्तेदारों और पुत्रों के साथ जीता है।
Kapila is seen a little above the foot of the right hand thumb, upward & a bit thick in formation. Generally, its dark in colour. The bearer will survive for over 100 years virtuously. He will enjoy excellent health, wealth, relatives and sons.
*YUKTA युक्ता ::
युक्ता त्वंगुष्ठमध्यद्यसंधयो: मध्ये स्फुटाकृति:।
बंधिरेखेव रेखैषा चक्रवर्तित्वसूचनी।
युक्तेति युक्तकारित्वप्रसंज्ञात् उदिता बुधै:।
अंगुष्ठोदरमध्येतु यवो यस्य विराजते।
उत्पन्नभोज्यभक्ष्यश्च सानन्दं सुखमेघते॥
युक्ता प्रथम और मध्य संधि के बीच पाई जाती है और संधि रेखा से मिलती-जुलती है। इसका धारक सम्राट बनता है। वह अपनी बुद्धिमानी और अच्छे कार्यों के लिये जाना जाता है।
Yukta is found between the first and the middle Sandhi-juncture of the right hand thumb. It will resemble the Sandhi Rekha. It will make a person emperor. The line is so called since such people are famous for their wisdom and wise actions.
**अँगूठे का दूसरा पर्व-तर्क ::
अंगुष्ठोदरमध्येतु यवो यस्य विराजते।
उत्पन्नभोज्यभक्ष्यश्च सानन्दं सुखमेधते॥
यदि अँगूठे के बीच में एक यव उपस्थित हो तो जातक को स्वाद और उत्तम भोजन की उपलब्धि होती है।
If an island is present in the middle of the thumb, the bearer will enjoy luxurious food and edibles.
**MADHAVI माधवी ::
माधवी नाम यांSगुष्ठस्योर्ध्वं तिर्यग्गता स्फुटा।
रेखा समृद्धिदा वह्वओ यदि नित्य सुखप्रदा:।
मधुद्वेषितया नाम्ना माधवीत्युदिता बुधै:॥
यह खड़ी हुई रेखा अँगूठे की नोक पर पायी जाती है। इसकी उपस्थिति बहुत ज्यादा धन-दौलत को दर्शाती है। यदि यह कई रेखाओं से मिलकर बानी हुई हो तो जातक को परमानन्द की प्राप्ति होती है। इसका यह नाम इसलिये पड़ा है क्योंकि जातक को शराब से नफ़रत-घृणा होती है।
This vertical line is found at the tip of the right hand thumb. It results in great prosperity. If it is made up of several lines, one will enjoy eternal happiness-bliss. Its so called, since such will dislike liquor.
**KANDALI कन्दली ::
कन्दली मकुटस्थाने तिर्यक् अंगुष्ठमूर्धनि।
रेखा स्थूला तत्फलं स्यात् नराणां चक्रवर्तिता।
अभीष्टप्रियदानेन भोगसौख्यं च योषिताम्।
कम् उत्तमांगम् उद्दिष्टं दलनं शोभनार्थकम्।
मुकुटाद्यै: शिरश्शोभासूचनात् कन्दली स्मृता।
अँगूठे के छोर पर पायी जाने वाली यह मोटी रेखा सीधी खड़ी होती है। जातक के बादशाह-सम्राट बनने की यह पूर्व सूचना है। यदि किसी स्त्री के हाथ में यह रेखा पाई जाये तो यह समझना चाहिये कि उसकी इच्छाओं की पूर्ति होगी और वह शादी-जीवन का भरपूर सुख प्राप्त करेगी। कन्दली खिलते हुए फूल का शीर्ष भाग होता है और मुकुट धारक के जीवन में ख़ुशी-आनन्द का द्योतक है।

Video link :: https://youtu.be/5ozODzyY6wk अँगूठा-व्यक्तित्व का प्रतीक :: शुद्ध, सुविकसित अँगूठे का मिलना प्राय: मुश्किल है। अंतर्जातीय विवाह, विविध संस्कृतियों के मेल इसका एक कारण हो सकता है। मैंने ऐसे लोगों के हाथों को परखा है, जिनके दायें और बायें हाथों के अँगूठे अलग-अलग तरह के होते हैं। उनका फल दायें हाथ को देखकर कहा जा सकता है। यह जरूरी नहीं कि जातक का व्यक्तित्व उसके हाथों के अँगूठों से मेल खाये क्योंकि विद्या, पर्यावरण, अभ्यास, भक्ति भाव और सुसंगति का असर उसके ऊपर आ सकता है। परन्तु गुस्सा होने, भावावेश में वह अपनी मूल वंशानुगत गुण ही प्रदर्शित करेगा।  (1). नुकीला अँगूठा :- इस प्रकार के अँगूठे प्रायः नीचे से थोड़े चौड़े, गोलाई लिये हुए और ऊपर जाकर नुकीले हो जाते हैं। ये देखने में सुंदर होते हैं और प्रायः स्त्रियों के हाथों में पाये जाते हैं। जातक नाजुक मिज़ाज, सौन्दर्य युक्त, भावनात्मक, आदर्शवादी, कल्पनाशील, सज्जन और अत्यधिक प्रेमभाव रखने वाला होगा। उसके द्वारा शारीरिक परिश्रम नहीं हो पायेगा। वह स्वचिंतन अधिक करने की वजह से स्वार्थी समझा जा सकता है। वह एक अच्छा मित्र साबित होता है।   (2). शंकुवाकार :- यह शुरु में चौड़ा और ऊपर जाकर गोलाई ले लेता है। जातक कल्पना शील होते हुए भी व्यावहारिक होता है। वह सुन्दर वस्त्र, स्वाद भोजन और सौंदर्यपूर्ण वस्तुओं का शौकीन होता है। उसकी शरीरिक और मानसिक क्षमता संतुलित-बराबर होती है। वह आत्मचिंतन के साथ-साथ वह दूसरों के बारे में सोचता-विचार करता है। उसमें सामाजिकता की भावना प्रबल होती है। (3). वर्गाकार अँगूठा :: जातक कर्मठ, क्रियाशील और कर्म में विश्वास रखता है। झूंठी शान-शौकत, कल्पना, दिखावट, उन ऊँचे आदर्शों में उसको विश्वास नहीं होता। ऐसे व्यक्ति प्राय: मेहनतकश, सादगी पसन्द और मध्यमवर्गी होते हैं। वे किसी भी बात पर आँख मूँदकर विश्वास नहीं करते, अपितु अपनी बुद्धि और तर्क की कसौटी पर परख कर ही कोई निर्णय लेते हैं। धैर्य और साहस-हिम्मत के साथ धन कमाना ही इनका प्रमुख मकसद होता है। स्पष्ट वादिता और ईमानदारी इनकी पहचान है।कर्मठ :: कुशलतापूर्वक काम करने वाला; कर्मनिष्ठ, शास्त्रविहित कर्मों को ठीक प्रकार से करने वाला, जिसने कई प्रशंसनीय और स्तुत्य कार्य किए हों, hard working, strenuous, energetic.  क्रियाशील होने पर वे खिलाड़ी, श्रेष्ठ इंजीनियर, अन्वेषक एवं वैज्ञानिक बन जाते हैं। ऐसा होने पर हाथ वर्गाकार, थोड़ा सख्त, बुध विकसित, शुक्र बड़ा अवश्य होगा।  अच्छे पालन-पोषण से इन्हें कर्मठ कार्यकर्त्ता, श्रेष्ठ पुलिस अफसर, सेना अधिकारी, जासूस या फिर कट्टर देशभक्त बनाया जा सकता है। मंगल श्रेष्ठ होगा। मस्तिष्क रेखा उच्च मंगल या फिर बुध की ओर झुकी हुई होगी।  (6). अविकसित अँगूठा :: इस प्रकर का अँगूठा हथेली से बिलकुल चिपका हुआ रहता है। इस अँगूठे का धारक तर्क शक्ति रहित, मूर्ख, अव्यवहारिक हो सकता है। उसमें पाशविकता और क्रूरता हो सकती है। वह मानवीय संवेदनाओं से दूर विपरीत लिंगी से पशुवत व्यवहार करने वाला होता है। उसकी शरीरिक शक्ति असामान्य होती है। ऐसे व्यक्ति प्रायः निपट गँवार और जंगली किस्म के होते हैं।  (7). मोटा अँगूठा :: इस प्रकार का अँगूठा इतना माँसल होता है कि इसमें गठान-खण्डों का पता ही नहीं चलता। यह छिले हुए केले के समान दिखता है। इसका धारक पाशविक प्रवृत्ति वाला, विषय भोगों में लिप्त, क्रूर और डाकू किस्म का होता है। वह शारीरिक दृष्टि के मजबूत मगर दिमांगी तौर पर कमजोर, अभिमानी, अहंकारी और नासमझ हो सकता है। वह किसी भी खतरे की परवाह नहीं करता। भविष्य के प्रति बेपरवाह वो वर्तमान में आनन्द लेता है। उसके जीवन का लक्ष्य किसी भी तरीके से पैसा कमाना और भौतिक सुख भोगना ही होता है।  (8). लम्बा और पतला अँगूठा :: इसके धारक में अच्छे स्वास्थ्य और स्फूर्ति के लक्षण पाए जाते हैं। वह शिक्षित तथा कलात्मकता लिये हुए रहता है। उसके जीवन के विकास की गति धीमी होती है। उसके प्रेम प्रसंग जरूर चलते हैं। उसके जीवन में सफलता संदिग्ध ही रहती है। वह प्रायः खर्चीला होता है।  (9). टेढ़ा-मेढ़ा अँगूठा :: टेढ़े-मेढ़े अँगूठे वाला जातक कुटिल, धोख़ेबाज़, धूर्त और ठग किस्म का होता है। वह हिंसक, क्रोधी और अविवेकी भी होगा। उसकी मनोवृत्ति हीन होगी और वह समाज के लिये कलंक होगा। ऐसा व्यक्ति छल-छन्द से रुपया कमाकर भी अमीर नहीं हो सकता। आध्यात्मिकता, धर्म, विद्या और ईश्वर जैसी चीजें, उस मूढ़ के लिये निरर्थक होती हैं।  (10). समतल अँगूठा :: ऐसा अँगूठा ऊपर जाकर गोलाई लिये हुए पतला हो जाता है। ऐसे अँगूठे वाला व्यक्ति स्वार्थी, संकुचित मनोवृत्ति वाला होगा। आर्थिक दृष्टि से सम्पन्न होते हुए भी वह संकोची तथा कंजूस किस्म का होगा। वह अपना कारोबार और गृहस्थी अच्छी तरह चलाते हुए भी लोगों, मित्रों, रिश्तेदारों से ज्यादा मेल-जोल पसन्द नहीं करेगा।  (11). गोल अँगूठा :: ऐसा जातक भगवान् का प्रेमी भक्त होते हुए भी ईर्ष्या और द्वेष से ग्रस्त भी होगा। वह डरपोक स्वभाव का होते हुए भी चालाक किस्म का आदमी होगा। उसे चटपटी चीजें खाने का शौक होगा। इसी वजह से उसमें उत्तेजना, क्रोध का माद्दा कुछ ज्यादा ही होगा। उत्तेजना के आवेग में वह अपना भला-बुरा और आगा-पीछा भी नहीं सोचेगा। वह कान का कच्चा होगा; अतः उसके साथ मित्रता रखना नुकसान का सौदा हो सकता है।  (12). फैला हुआ-चौड़ा अँगूठा :: ऐसे व्यक्तियों को वायु विकार रहता है। व्यावहारिक होते हुए भी इनको क्रोध पर काबू करना सम्भव नहीं। ऐसे व्यक्ति का गुस्सा बहुत जल्दी उतर जाता है और वे बाद में पछताते हैं। इनके गृहस्थ जीवन में कलह सदैव चलता रहता है। आर्थिक दृष्टि से ये जातक सम्पन्न होते हैं और धर्म-कर्म में इनका विश्वास अटल रहता है।  (13). गदादार अँगूठा :: ऐसे अँगूठे का प्रथम खण्ड गदा की शक्ल लिये रहता है और दूसरा खंड अपेक्षाकृत पतला होता है। ऐसे अँगूठा धारक सामान्यतया हिंसक, हत्यारा और खूनी कहा जाता है। यह लक्षण दोनों हाथों में हो, मंगल बहुत ज्यादा उठा हुआ और विकृत हो, जीवन रेखा और हृदय रेखा मिली हुई हों, तो उपरोक्त सम्भावनाएँ हो सकती हैं। मगर वर्तमान युग में पढ़े लिखे लोगों के हाथ में यह लक्षण होते हुए भी वे हत्यारे नहीं होते। अतः इसके साथ अन्य लक्षणों का होना भी बेहद जरूरी है। हाँ, धनुर्धरों के हाथ में इस लक्षण का होना एक बहुत ही अच्छे धनुर्धर की निशानी हो सकता है।  (14). बीच में पतला अँगूठा :: इसका मध्यम खण्ड कुछ पतला होता है। ऐसे जातक प्रबुद्ध, तेज-तर्रार और गम्भीर प्रवृत्ति के होते हैं। अपनी अध्ययनशीलता के कारण वे उच्च शिक्षा ग्रहण करते हैं। सामान्यतया, वे समाजप्रेमी और शान्तिप्रिय होते हैं। वे दूसरों के झगड़ों में मध्यस्थता कर उनकों निपटाने में माहिर होते हैं। उन्हें राजनैतिक, सामाजिक और धार्मिक क्षेत्रों में बराबर सफलता मिलती है।  (15). पूर्ण विकसित अँगूठा :: इस प्रकार के अंगूठे में मध्यम खण्ड परिपूर्ण, विकसित और पुष्ट होता है। जातक में बहुत ज्यादा आत्मविश्वास होता है। वह धार्मिक, आर्थिक और बौद्धिक क्षमता सम्पन्न और स्वाभिमानी होता है। वह सत्य वक्ता, और ईमानदार होता है। जैसा सोचता वैसा ही स्पष्ट और खुले शब्दों में बोल देता है। वह इस बात पर तनिक भी विचार नहीं करता कि श्रोता पर इसका क्या प्रभाव होगा। ऐसे व्यक्ति का मस्तिष्क क्रियशील और शरीर चेष्टावान होने से वह एक महत्वाकांक्षी व्यक्ति बन जाता है। |

THREE PHALANGES OF THE THUMB अंगूठे के तीन खण्ड ::
FIRST PHALANGE प्रथम खण्ड :- यह खण्ड धारक के आत्मविश्वास और शक्ति को प्रकट करता है। यदि यह दूसरे खण्ड की अपेक्षा लम्बा है तो, जातक में अत्यधिक आत्मविश्वास होगा। ऐसी स्थिति में मस्तिष्क रेखा का सुदृढ़-शुभ होना बहुत ही जरूरी है, अन्यथा उसके निर्णय गलत हो सकते हैं। तर्क और चिंतन शक्ति की कमी उसे जल्दबाजी में निर्णय लेने को मजबूर कर सकती है, जो कि अन्ततोगत्वा दुःखद परिणाम देती है। लम्बा प्रथम खण्ड रखने वाला व्यक्ति उत्पीड़न, अत्याचार, जुल्म करते हुए निरंकुश हो सकता है। उसकी जिद-हठ उसे दुराग्रही बना सकती है। वह कुछ करने के बाद ही उसके परिणाम पर विचार करेगा। वह अविवेकी और जल्दबाज होगा। यह एक ऐसा उदाहरण है जब कि सीमा से अधिक अच्छाई व्यक्ति को सीमा से बाहर ले जाती है और वह असफल हो जाता है।
It show will power and determination. If it is longer than the second phalange, it will indicate that the bearer has strong determination and will power. He should have the backing of a strong Line of Head as well, for correct actions in the long run. Lack of reasoning and and logic may lead to hasty actions and he may suffer later. SECOND PHALANGE द्वितीय खण्ड :- यदि यह भाग पहले भाग से लम्बा है तो व्यक्ति में निर्णय, तर्क शक्ति आत्मविश्वास से अधिक होगी। वो बुद्धिमान और विवेकी होगा। वह किसी भी बात को बहुत जल्दी समझ लेगा। आय-व्यय के मामले में वह बहुत सोच-विचार कर कार्य करेगा। उसके निर्णय सामान्यतया सही होंगे। फिर भी दृढ इच्छा शक्ति के आभाव में वह अपने निर्णय, विचारों को परवान पर नहीं चढ़ा पायेगा। और हो सकता है कि वो केवल एक बोलने वाला बनकर रह जाये।
यदि दूसरा खण्ड बहुत लम्बा है तो व्यक्ति किसी भी बात को बहुत ज्यादा खींचेगा और उसकी बातों का कोई महत्व नहीं रह जायेगा।
इस खण्ड के बहुत ज्यादा छोटा रहने की अवस्था में व्यक्ति में तुरत विचार करने की क्षमता का अभाव होगा जो उसके निर्णय और भविष्य को प्रभावित करेगी।
बहुत बड़ा और चौड़ा होने पर व्यक्ति एक अच्छा विचारक और संसारी बन सकता है। बहुत छोटा और संकरा होने पर मनुष्य बुद्धि के मामले में वनमानुष के समान होगा।
पतला और सुडौल मध्य खण्ड व्यक्ति को संतुलित-सभ्य मगर बेचैन और चिड़चिड़ा बनाता है, जिसका प्रभाव उसकी चिन्तन शक्ति पर भी पड़ता है।
If the second phalange is longer than the first one will have logic and reason more developed than his determination and will power. He will be intelligent-prudent and grasp things easily as compared to others. He will be very calculative in making expenditures. His judgements would be sound. However, he may fail to materialise his conceptions for lack of strong will & determination. He may merely turn into a talker only.
If the second phalange is too long one may discuss the matters to the end. he may not trust any one and become paradoxical.
Too short second phalange will turn one into a person who lacks common sense and one would not like to think before action.
Too long and broad second phalange reveals good understanding of material objects. But short and broad may turn him primitive type like an ape.
A slender second phalange will may make a person refined but nervous which will affect his reasoning.
THIRD PHALANGE तृतीय खण्ड :- यह खण्ड शुक्र पर्वत है। सामान्यतया शुक्र के गुण-दोष व्यक्ति के मानस, चाल-चलन व्यक्तित्व को प्रकट करते हैं। मनुष्य के व्यक्तित्व पर उसके अँगूठे के प्रथम और द्वितीय खण्ड का सीधा असर दिखाई देगा। यदि दोनों खण्ड विकसित और संतुलित हैं तो, व्यक्ति सुखी, संतुष्ट और सफल होगा।
It constitutes the Mount of Venus. Normally its longer than the remaining two. It exhibits the characterises of Venus. Its directly affected by the first and second phalange. If these two are balanced, one will be a successful happy person in life.
MAIN DIVISIONS-CLASSIFICATION OF THUMB अँगूठे के मुख्य तीन भेद ::
वो तमोगुणी, आलसी, अभद्र भाषा का प्रयोग करने वाला, अभक्ष्य खाने वाला, निम्न-हीन औरतों से सम्बन्ध रखने वाला होगा।
अगर यह लक्षण उच्च कुल में पैदा हुए व्यक्ति के हाथ में दिखाई दें तो यह मानना चाहिये कि वह धूर्त, बेईमान, मक्कार और दुर्गुणी होगा। वह उपरोक्त अन्य अवगुणों से भी ग्रस्त होगा। हाँ, अगर अँगूठे का कोण 400 से अधिक है तो जातक में दुर्गुणों-दुव्यसनों की मात्रा कम हो जायेगी।
तमोगुणी :- तर्जनी के साथ न्यून कोण बनाने वाले तमोगुणी अँगूठे। ऐसे लोग आलसी बुद्धि की अपेक्षा शारीरिक श्रम करके निर्वाह करते हैं। समय के दुरुपयोगी, निराशावादी होते हैं। यात्रा से इतने डरने वाले, नशे के आदि, मेरे भाग्य में दु:ख ही लिखा है ये इनकी सोच होती है। ऐसे व्यक्तियों का जीवन प्राय: संघर्षमय रहता है।
This thumb is too short and is very close to the palm. It makes an angle, which is less than 90 degrees. It hardly touches the first finger. A person with this sign is fat and dwarf-sort in height. Normally, he belongs to lower cadre of the society. At the most, he may be from a mediocre family. Lack of education keeps him away from religion-piousity-virtues. He will be affected by poverty. He will have faith in evil spirits and he will perform prayers in burial or cremation grounds. He may be inclined to black magic and dark forces. He opts for talisman for cure of illness or poverty. However, the quantum of negativity will reduce with the rise in angle from 40 degrees onward.
If the thumb makes an acute angle with the Index finger, the person may not be able to analyse, think appropriately. His will may not be that strong. Others may impose them selves upon him. Such person should be dealt with gently, being delicate. He is likely to react to outside stimuli with anger or open hostility.

This type of thumb makes an angle of 90 degrees with the palm. One will be practical, educated and prudent. He will be laborious, true to his word and persevering, assiduous & resolute. He may be revengeful and full of vengeance & retaliation. He would break but would not bend. If he is a friend, he would sacrifice his life to save-protect the friend and if an enemy he will finish the foe.

The thumb makes right angled, L-shaped, with the Index finger. One is balance headed, logistic, with firmness. His will power is good. Rigid thumb will make him obstinate-not listening to even the right advice. रजोगुणी :- तर्जनी के साथ समकोण बनाने वाला अँगूठा रजोगुणी कहलाता है, ये अँगूठा पीछे की ओर नहीं झुकता है। ऐसे अँगूठे की लम्बाई तर्जनी के तृतीय पर्व के आधे भाग तक पहुँचती है। ऐसे व्यक्ति जिद्दी किस्म के बदले की भावना वाले होते हैं। इनकी विशेषता ये होती है कि ये किसी के द्वारा किये गये अहसान को कभी नहीं भूलते वक्त पड़ने पर उसके लिए जन तक देने को तैयार रहते हैं। इस प्रकार के अँगूठे वाले हार न मानने वाले, न झुकने वाले, राष्ट्रभक्त, इन्हें क्रोध शीघ्र व तीव्र आता है, इसके जीवन में विपतियाँ भी ज्यादा आती हैं।
वह सतोगुणी, त्यागी, दानी और साहसी होगा, मगर फिजूल खर्च। सात्विकता की अधिकता अँगूठे का फैलाव 120 अंश से 180 अंश तक बढ़ा देती है। अँगूठे की लम्बाई वृहस्पति की ऊँगली के मध्य भाग तक ही उचित है। इससे ऊपर जाने पर व्यक्ति मूर्खों की श्रेणी में आ सकता है और गुणों की अधिकता सीमा से पार जाकर दोषों में बदल जायेगी। हकीकत में वह व्यक्ति अलौकिक शक्तियों का मालिक हो सकता है जो स्वयं को छुपाये रखने के मकसद से जान-बूझकर ऐसा व्यवहार करेगा। मूर्खता की परख अन्य लक्षणों से होती है।
सात्विक :- तर्जनी (अँगूठे के बगलवाली अँगूठी को तर्जनी कहते हैं) के मध्य अधिक कोण जो बनाते हैं। इसे सात्विक अँगूठा कहते हैं। ऐसे अँगूठे वाले व्यक्ति अत्यधिक अंधविश्वासी होते हैं। ऐसे व्यक्ति के घर में भौतिक सुखों की कमी रहती है। पर घर से बाहर इनकी काफी प्रतिष्ठा होती है। ये किसी भी प्रकार से विधाध्ययन करके अपने कुल का नाम रौशन करते हैं। ऐसे व्यक्ति सभ्य, मिलनसार, समाजसेवी होते हैं। किसी करणवंश उच्च शिक्षा न भी प्राप्त कर पाये तो भी समाज में एक अलग विशिष्ट स्थान तो अवश्य ही प्राप्त कर पाये तो भी समाज में एक अलग विशिष्ट स्थान तो अवश्य ही प्राप्त करते हैं ऐसे व्यक्ति कुशल व्यापारी, डॉक्टर, जज या उच्च कोटि के गणितज्ञ होते हैं और देर-सबेर सुखों को प्राप्त अवश्य करते हैं। पर ऐसे कोण वाले व्यक्ति का यदि अँगूठा छोटा हो तो ऐसे व्यक्ति प्राय: जीवन भर असंतुष्ट रहते हैं।

अँगुष्ठ पर चिन्ह ::
अँगुष्ठ पर यव का चिन्ह :- यव चिन्ह से तात्पर्य उस चिन्ह से है जो जौ के दाने के समान अँगूठे के मध्य में लगभग रहता है तो ऐसे व्यक्ति विद्वान, धनवान व यशस्वी होते हैं। अँगूठे में यव (मत्स्य) चिन्ह शुभता के प्रतीक हैं। जितने यव होंगे व्यक्ति उतना ही सौभाग्यशाली होगा। दो यव होने पर जातक के दो पुत्र होते हैं।
This is the only location over the palm where island is auspicious.
ऐसे लोग अपने जीवन में लगभग सदा सुखी तथा पूर्ण भोग को भोगने वाले होते हैं। यदि अँगूठे का यव बीच से कटा हुआ हो तो ऐसे लोग 50 वर्ष की आयु के बाद धन व समृद्धि को प्राप्त करते हैं ।
अँगूठे पर तिल :- अंगुष्ठ पर तिल वाले व्यक्ति प्राय: धनि, जल्दबाज़, तीर्थ के प्रेमी तथा कुछ जिद्दी स्वभाव के होते हैं।
अँगूठे का नाखून टेढ़ा :- टेढ़े नाखून वाले प्राय: धार्मिक तथा यात्रा के शौकीन होते हैं । यदि अँगूठे का नाखून कछुये की पीठ की तरह उठा हुआ हो तो ऐसे व्यक्ति प्राय: मंद भाग्य वाले होते हैं ।
दो अँगूठे :- किसी-किसी व्यक्ति के हाथ में अँगूठे के पास एक छोटा अंगूठा और जुड़ा रहता है । ऐसे व्यक्ति प्राय: धनी पर नशेड़ी-नशेबाज होते हैं तथा इनके जीवन में इन्हें लगभग राज व कोर्ट, कचहरी का सामना अक्सर करना पड़ता है।
इन सभी फलों को पुरुषों के दाये व स्त्रियॉं के बाये हाथ के लिये समझना चाहिये।
उठा हुआ अँगूठा जीवन में जागृति और चेतनता का प्रतीक है।अगर अँगूठा गिरा हुआ तो वो मानसिक कमजोरी और शिथिलता का प्रतीक है।
जिसका अँगूठा कटा हुआ हो वो व्यक्ति डरपोक और अपने आपको हीन समझता है।
यही नहीं अँगूठे से जन्म का समय भी निकाला जा सकता है। जिन व्यक्तियों को अपने जन्म का समय पता नहीं। उनके अँगूठे की छाप से जन्म लग्न निकाला जा सकता है।
जिनका अँगूठा मजबूत और सृदढ़ होता उन्हें अच्छा माना जाता है। इस अँगूठे वाले लोग न्यायप्रिय,ईमानदार, समय के पाबंद और भरोसेमंद होते हैं।
जिनका अँगूठा गदाकार यानि गिरा होता है। वो लोग भरोसे के काबिल नही होते। ऐसे लोग देखने में भी अच्छे नही होते वो कातिल भी हो सकते है।
अँगूठे के यव में कई प्रकार की आकृतियां पाई जाती है। अपूर्ण यव रेखा होने पर ससुराल पक्ष से आर्थिक लाभ मिलता है।इसमें मोटी,सीधी रेखा हो तो व्यक्ति का 33 साल की आयु के बाद संघर्षमय होने से बच जाता है।
जिन लोगों का अँगूठा छुपा हुआ हो वो लोग झूठे हो सकते हैं। निर्भीक और सही व्यक्ति का अंगूठा बाहर खुला रहता है।

अँगूठे के तीन पर्वो में से बाहर वाला पहला पर्व, दूसरा और तीसरा पर्व हथेली के भाग से ही मिले होते हैं। जहां पर्व मिलते हैं, वहाँ एक से अधिक यव चिन्ह होते हैं। ये चिन्ह विद्वता और धन ऐश्वर्य के सूचक होते हैं।
कटे हुए यव अधिक प्रभावशाली नहीं होते। अँगूठे और तर्जनी में जितना अधिक अन्तर होगा। वह व्यक्ति स्वभाव का अच्छा होगा।
अँगूठे के आकार से भविष्य की पहचान :: अँगूठे यदि लंबे बीच में पतले हो तो व्यक्ति के काम जल्दी होते हैं, लेकिन जीवन का विकास बहुत ही धीमी गति से होता है।

अँगूठे के तीन पर्व :: जैसे अँगुलियों के तीन पर्व (धारी होती है ) होते हैं, वही अँगूठे को भी तीन पर्वों में बाटा गया है। अँगुष्ठ का प्रथम पोरुआ बड़ा होना दृढ़ इच्छा शक्ति को बतलाया है। तीसरा पर्व बड़ा होने पर प्रेम में सफलता तथा सौंदर्य प्रेमी होना बतलाता है तीसरा पर्व बड़ा होने पर प्रेम में सफलता तथा सौन्दर्य प्रेमी होना दर्शाता है ।

DHANI धानि: :: यव केवल एक ही स्थान पर शुभ होता है और वह है अँगूठा। बायें हाथ के अँगूठे पर मौजूद यह चिन्ह जातक को प्रचुर कृषि भूमि प्रदान करता है। अगर यह यव टूटा भी हो तो भी जातक की फसल गाहे-बगाहे बहुत अच्छी होगी। उसे धन-दौलत, समृद्धि की प्राप्ति होगी। (2.2). HEMWATI हेमवती :: सोने के समान घण्टियों जैसी आकृति लिये हुए यह रेखा जातक को स्वर्णाभूषण, कीर्ति-नाम और बहकावे न आने की क्षमता प्रदान करती है। हकीकत में यह यव माला जैसी लगती है और यव केवल अँगूठे पर ही शुभ होते हैं। (2.2.1). एक यव एक पुत्र को प्रकट करता है। जितने यव होंगे, उतने ही पुत्र होंगे। टूटा, कटा हुआ यव गर्भपात को दिखाता है। (2.3). MADYANTIKA मदयन्तिका :: अँगुष्ठ मूल पर नीचे की ओर से ऊपर को बढ़ने वाली यह रेखा दैवीय सुख-ख़ुशी प्रदान करने वाली है। यह प्रचुर मात्रा में धन-धान्य, सम्पत्ति भी देती है। (2.4). CHETSA चेतसा :: जातक धन कमाने में चौकस रहता है और दीर्घायु होता है। उसके पास बड़ी मात्रा में कृषि योग्य भूमि होती है। उसका स्वास्थ्य हमेशा अच्छा रहता है। यह रेखा जीवन रेखा के करीब चलते हुए शत्रु स्थान-निम्न मंगल पर और शुक्र की सन्धि तक पहुँचती है। (2.5). रति-मोहिनी रेखा :: अँगूठे के दोनों सिरों को जोड़ने वाली रेखा रति रेखा कहलाती है और सम्भोग-सुख प्रदान करती है। यह रेखा उलटे हाथ के अँगूठे पर होती है। यह रेखा जातक के अपने जीवन साथी के प्रेम, लगाव, रुझान, व्यवहार, निभाव एवं वैवाहिक सुख को बताती है। जब इस रेखा के ऊपर-नीचे, दो-तीन सहायक रेखा होती हैं तो पुरुष जातक के अनेक प्रेम सम्बन्ध होने की सम्भावना रहती है। यदि यह रेखा अस्पष्ट हो तथा अँगुष्ठोदर यव खण्डित हो तो प्रायु गणना करने पर उसी अवस्था में जातक की पत्नी की मृत्यु या तलाक हो सकता है। वह जातक तत्काल दूसरी शादी कर सकता है। रति रेखा वैवाहिक सुख एवं प्रणय क्रीड़ाओं को दर्शाती है। मोटी व भद्दी रेखा होने पर जातक का जीवन साथी प्रणय प्रसङ्गों (काम-क्रीड़ाओं) से अनभिज्ञ व अनजान, अनाड़ी, अनजान-अनिपुण बनाती है। यह रेखा जितनी पतली व गहरी होगी जातक को उसी अनुपात में रति सुख प्राप्त होगा। यह रेखा बीच में टूटी हो तो उसका जीवन साथी उस जातक के प्रति उदास किन्तु अन्य के प्रति कामेच्छा रखने वाला होता है। यदि इस रेखा पर द्वीपयव हो तो जातक की पत्नी को गुप्त रोग व गुप्त बीमारी होती है। यदि यह रेखा प्रारम्भ से कुछ अस्पष्ट, अदृश्य हो तो जातक को वैवाहिक सुख 28 वर्षों के पश्चात् मिलता है, परन्तु ठीक बीच भाग में से इस रेखा का अदृश्य होना व्यक्ति के मध्य जीवन में पत्नी की अचानक मृत्यु को बताता है। यदि यह रेखा दो रस्सियों की तरह जुड़ी हुई हो तो जातक के एक ही समय में दो विवाहित पत्नियाँ होती हैं, परन्तु दोनों से सन्तान नहीं होती। यदि इस रेखा पर काला बिन्दु हो तो जातक की पत्नी निमोनिया व तपैदिक की बीमारी से मरती है। इस रेखा पर द्वीप होना पत्नी को गुप्त रोग-बीमारी से ग्रसित बताता है। शुरू में अस्पष्ट रेखा वैवाहिक सुख 28 वर्ष की अवस्था के बाद दिखाती है। ठीक बीच में इस रेखा का अदृश्य होना पत्नी की मृत्यु बताता है। रस्सी का रूप लिये यह रेखा एक ही समय में दो विवाहित पत्नियों को दर्शाती है, परन्तु संतान दोनों से ही संतान प्राप्त नहीं होगी। इस रेखा पर काला तिल-बिन्दु पत्नी को तपेदिक या फिर निमोनिया से ग्रस्त होकर मरना दिखाता है। (2.6). BHAVITREE भवित्री :: अँगूठे पर नाख़ून के पास पाई जाने वाली गहरी, काले रंग की यह रेखा जातक को तीनों लोकों में प्रिय बनाने वाली है। उसे अपने कर्मों के अनुरूप ही फल की प्राप्ति होती है। (2.8). RAG BADHIRA राग बधिरा :: यह ऊपर की ओर उठी हुई रेखा यवक्या नामक रेखा के नीचे पाई जाती है। यह रेखा लाल रंग लिये, लहरदार और कान्तिहीन होती है। यह मनुष्य में इच्छाओं, व्यक्तियों, और मनवान्छित वस्तुओं से अलगाव की प्रवृत्ति-अंधत्व को प्रदर्शित करती है। इसके नाम का अर्थ रंगों का दिखाई ना देना है अर्थात व्यक्ति इस संसार के प्रति उदासीन हो सकता है। (5). GAJAHVYA गजाह्वया :: यह रेखा अँगूठे की सन्धि पर स्पष्ट रूप से उपस्थित, थोड़ी उलटे हाथ की ओर उठी हुई होती है। इस रेखा की उपस्थिति दूसरों पर निर्भर, साधु स्वभाव का व्यक्ति बनाती है। (6). BAL HRADHYA बालहृद्या :: इस रेखा का उदय अँगूठे के मूल से पीछे की ओर होता है। यह प्यार करने वाली स्त्रियाँ, लड़के, जवानी-अच्छा स्वास्थ्य, खुशियाँ और नेकनामी प्रदान करती है। धारक-जातक का व्यवहार बच्चे जैसा निश्छल या फिर आशिकाना हो सकता है।  (7). VASUPREKSHA वसुप्रेक्षा :: यह लम्बी और ऊपर की ओर उठी हुई रेखा बालहृद्या के नीचे से प्रारम्भ होती है। इसका धारक जातक अपनी सम्पत्ति को बार-बार देखता और उसको लेकर चिन्तित रहता है। (8). LOHIKA लोहिका :: यह रेखा रोहिणी-जीवन रेखा के अन्तिम छोर से शुरू होकर, अँगूठे के मूल को पार करके, नाख़ून के मध्य तक जाती है। इसमें से हिरण के सींग की तरह की शाखाएँ निकली होती हैं। इसके प्रभाव से जातक को विद्या और लक्ष्मी की कृपा प्राप्त होती है। (9). KARIDANTURA करिदन्तुरा :: यह रेखा अँगूठे के पौरुए के ऊपर से नाख़ून नीचे की ओर दो टुकड़ों में बँटकर हाथी के दाँतों की तरह बढ़ती है। जातक के दाँत ज्यादा बढ़े हुए होंगे। जिस व्यक्ति के हाथ में यह रेखा होती है उसके हाथ पाँव टेढ़े-मेढ़े और विकृत इच्छाएँ होती हैं। (10). KAMVALLI कामवल्ली :: कामवल्ली कपिला और युक्ता के नीचे, अँगूठे को दो भागों में विभाजित करने वाली रेखा के नीचे पाई जाती है। इसके कारण जातक को धन-दौलत की सहज प्राप्ति होती है। स्त्री के हाथ में यह रेखा आकर्षण शक्ति, सौभाग्य, धन-दौलत और मान-सम्मान को प्रदर्शित करती है। इसका नाम कामवल्ली इसलिये है, क्योंकि यह मनुष्य की कामना-इच्छा पूर्ति करती है। (11). MADHAVI माधवी :: यह खड़ी हुई रेखा अँगूठे की नोक पर पायी जाती है। इसकी उपस्थिति बहुत ज्यादा धन-दौलत को दर्शाती है। यदि यह कई रेखाओं से मिलकर बनी हुई हो तो जातक को परमानन्द की प्राप्ति होती है। इसका यह नाम इसलिये पड़ा है क्योंकि जातक को शराब से नफ़रत-घृणा होती है।

(1). पूर्ण यव :: जातक कुल का नाम रोशन करने वाला, यशश्वी, विनम्र और सौभाग्य शाली होगा। शुक्र और दूसरे पर्व के बीच पाई जाने वाले पूर्ण यव जीवित पुत्रों की सँख्या प्रदर्शित करते हैं। (2). एक दूसरे से जुड़े हुए दो यव (∞) :: इस प्रकार लेटे हुए आठ की आकृति होने पर जातक की उन्नति मध्यवस्था में होती है और फिर वह पर्याप्त धन कमाता है। (3). टूटा हुआ-अपूर्ण यव :: जातक ससुराल से या फिर पैतृक सम्पत्ति से जितने धन-लाभ की अपेक्षा रखता है, उतना नहीं मिल पाता। (4). सीधी-सरल रेखा :: जातक को 32 वर्ष की आयु तक संघर्ष पूर्ण जीवन व्यतीत करना पड़ता है। उसके बाद वह अपनी मेहनत से आत्मनिर्भर और धनवान हो जाता है। वह सादगी भरा जीवन व्यतीत करना पसन्द करता है। (5). टुकड़ों में बनी खण्डित रेखा :: जातक को जीवन निर्वाह के लिए कठिन परिश्रम करना होगा। उसके और उसके कुटुम्बियों-परिवार के सदस्यों में मन-मुटाब बना रहेगा। उसका गृहस्थ जीवन भी ज्यादा सुखी नहीं होगा। (6). लहरदार रेखा :: इस होने से जातक का चित्त स्थिर नहीं रहता। वह अकारण मानसिक परेशानियों-दुविधाओं से घिरा रहता है। वह शुक्ल पक्ष में वह सुखी और प्रसन्न चित्त तथा कृष्ण पक्ष में उदास और दुःखी रहेगा। ऐसा व्यक्ति लाटरी, जुआ और सट्टे के साथ साथ शेयर मार्केट में भी रूचि रखता है। (7). वक्र और द्विशाखित :: जातक की माता का देहान्त बचपन में ही हो जाता है। मकर लग्न में चौथे स्थान पर शनि के साथ राहु की युति होने से ऐसा योग बनता है। (8). त्रिभुजाकार मोड़ :: यदि रेखा नीचे झुककर फिर से त्रिभुजाकार होकर ऊपर उठी हो जातक को सन्तान की प्राप्ति 35 साल की उम्र के बाद ही होगी। (9). त्रिभुजाकार मोड़ को काटती हुई रेखा के द्वारा त्रिभुज बनना :: यदि कोई रेखा, इस मुड़ी हुई रेखा को काट कर त्रिभुज बनाये तो जातक को 33 से 35 आयु के बीच गुणवान पुत्र की प्राप्ति होगी। (10). लहरदार-वक्र रेखा के अंत में अनेक काटती हुई रेखाएँ :: जातक के अनेक दुश्मन होंगे। नजदीकी रिश्तेदार नुकसान, परेशानी, धनहानि पैदा करेंगे। ऐसा व्यक्ति प्राय: निःसंतान होता है। उसका गोद लिया हुआ बेटा नालायक और बदमाश किस्म का होता है। (11). प्रारम्भ में कटी-फ़टी पर बाद में सही :: जातक का बचपन कष्टमय परन्तु युवावस्था और शेष जीवन सम्पन्नता पूर्ण एवं सुखमय होगा। (12). शुरू में टुकड़ों में, फिर यव की शक्ल में और अंत में नीचे की ओर मुडी हुई :: जातक बचपन में ही जन्म स्थान को छोड़कर अन्यत्र जाकर रिश्तेदारों व अन्य लोगों की मदद से मध्यम आयु तक खूब धन कमायेगा। परन्तु धीरे-धीरे उसका सारा धन खर्च हो जायेगा हुए उसकी घर वाली उसके सामने ही मर जायेगी। (13). प्रारम्भ और अंत में बहुशाखित यव :: जातक के सभी अविभावकों की मृत्यु बचपन में ही हो जाती है। वह इधर-उधर भटकने बाद 28 की आयु में धन कमाना शुरू करता है और खूब धन, यश और प्रतिष्ठा प्राप्त करता है। (14). खुले यव में समाप्त होती हुई खंडित रेखा :: जातक जो कुछ भी कमाता है उसे वह 35 से 40 साल की उम्र तक खर्च कर डालता है। उस पर कर्ज का बोझ हो जाता है। वह अपनी पैतृक सम्पत्ति को बेचकर अंत में कुकर्मों में रत रहते हुए जीवन बिताता है। (15). मत्स्याकृति :: जातक सुखी, सम्पन्न और खुश रहने वाला व्यक्ति होता है। उसका जन्म प्रायः चर राशि- मेष, कर्क, तुला या फिर मकर में ही होता है। वह धार्मिक विचारों वाला होता है और दूरस्थ प्रदेशों या तीर्थों की यात्रा करता है। (16). काटे के चिन्ह से युक्त जंजीर :: जातक क्रूर, निर्दयी और जिद्दी स्वभाव का होगा। उसकी शैक्षणिक योग्यता कम ही होगी। उसका वैवाहिक जीवन कलहपूर्ण होगा। भारी परेशानियों, कठिनाइयों के चलते वह कठिन परिश्रम करके भी कभी पूंजी, यश-मान, प्रतिष्ठा का सृजन नहीं कर पायेगा। यह रेखा मकर रेखा के नाम से भी जनि जाती है। (17). कटी-फ़टी, सीढ़ी नुमा रेखा :: इस रेखा का असर भी उपरोक्त जैसा ही होता है (जातक क्रूर, निर्दयी और जिद्दी स्वभाव का होगा।)। परन्तु कटी-फ़टी रेखा होने से जातक का मनोबल कम हो जाता है और वो निराश होकर आत्महत्या तक कर सकता है। ऐसी स्थिति में जातक की मस्तिष्क रेखा अवश्य देखनी चाहिये जो कि चंद्र पर्वत पर अचानक-एकदम नीचे की ओर मुड़ जाती है। (18). खुला यव और सीधी होती हुई खण्डित रेखा :: ऐसा व्यक्ति प्रारम्भ में 16 साल की अवस्था तक दुःख-तकलीफ झेलता है। उसके बाद 32 साल आते-आते उसके दिन फिरने लगते हैं और वह जन्म भूमि से दूर जाकर बहुत सारी जायदाद, धन-सम्पत्ति का निर्माण करता है। (19). कई रेखाओं के द्वारा द्वीप का निर्माण :: यह यव धान की बाली की शक्ल ले लेता है। जातक बाल्यावस्था से ही सुखी होता है। उसकी सहायता से कुटुम्बी भी तरक्की करते हैं। वह स्वयं भी अतुल धन सम्पत्ति कमाता है। उसके पास बहुत सारे नौकर-चाकर, वाहन और सुख के साधन होते हैं। (20). यवमाला :: इसका पाया जाना अत्यधित शुभ-लाभप्रद है। ऐसा जातक अनेक पुत्रों वाला राजा, राज्याधिपति, राज्यपाल, सुखी, अत्यधित प्रतिभाशाली सम्पन्न व्यक्ति होता है।
यदि यह यवमाला अँगूठे के मूल में मौजूद हो तो जातक को धनाढ्य और प्रतिष्ठावान ससुराल मिलती है तथा विवाह के बाद ही उसका भाग्योदय होता है। इस प्रकार के लक्षण वाले व्यक्ति के पिता को नेत्र विकार होता है। उसके पिता की मृत्यु भी शीघ्र हो जाती है। पिता की मृत्यु से उसको धन, सम्पत्ति, सोना और भूमि की प्राप्ति होती है। ऐसे जातक की कुण्डली में सूर्य और राहु की युति पाई जाती है या फिर राहु और सूर्य क्रमशः 5 वें तथा 8 वें स्थान पर होते हैं।

यदि इस रेखा के साथ अशुभ चिन्ह यथा शनि पर्वत पर काटे का निशान हों तो व्यक्ति को अन्त में फाँसी भी हो सकती है। जुल्फिकार अली भुट्टो के हाथ में यह निशान था।
अँगूठे की सहायता से भविष्य ज्ञान :: महर्षि अगस्त्य केरल के निशस्त्र युद्ध शैली-कला कलरीपायट्टु की दक्षिणी शैली वर्मक्कलै के संस्थापक आचार्य एवं आदि गुरु हैं। वर्मक्कलै निःशस्त्र युद्ध कला शैली है। मान्यता के अनुसार भगवान् शिव ने अपने पुत्र मुरुगन-भगवान् कार्तिकेय को यह कला सिखायी तथा मुरुगन ने यह कला अगस्त जी को सिखायी। महर्षि अगस्त ने यह कला अन्य सिद्धों को सिखायी तथा तमिल में इस पर पुस्तकें भी लिखी। महर्षि अगस्त्य दक्षिणी चिकित्सा पद्धति सिद्ध वैद्यम् के जनक भी हैं। उनके द्वारा रचित अँगूठे की सहायता से भविष्य जानने की कला भी काफी प्रचलित है।
